My Time at Sandrock

How to Build a Grinder

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to unlock and build a "Grinder" iconGrinder in My Time at Sandrock.

How to Get the Grinder Blueprint

In order to build a Grinder on the Assembly Station, you’ll need to obtain the Grinder blueprint from "Qi" iconQi. It costs x3 "Data Discs" iconData Discs and it’ll take 1 day to prepare. When it’s ready, Qi will send you the blueprint in the mail!

You can purchase the blueprint for a grinder from Qi with 3 Data Discs.

Materials Required to Build a Grinder

Item_Drop_Bar_Bronze.png "Bronze Bars" iconBronze Bars x4

In order to make a Grinder, you’ll need x4 "Bronze Bars" iconBronze Bars, x2 "Bearings" iconBearings and x6 "Bricks" iconBricks. In total, you’ll need the following raw resources to get the required materials:

How to Get Bricks

Bricks can be obtained in a few different ways. You could either put stone scraps in a "Recycler" iconRecycler, but as with all things recycled, there’s no guarantee you will get bricks. If you have lots of Stone Scraps, then this might be the way to go!

Alternatively, you could place Stones in a furnace. If you want to learn how to make a furnace, head over to our guide!

You’ll need 4 Stones for every 1 Brick, so in total you’ll need 32 Stones. Luckily, Stones are really easy to come by, just head out and find some gravel stones near your yard and mine them with your pickhammer!

Bricks can be made in the furnace as well as obtained from the recycler.

How to Get Bearings

Bearings can be obtained from Mechanical Scrap, which can be mined from various scrap piles in Eufaula Salvage. Place the Mechanical Scraps into the Recycler and you’ll have a chance of recycling the scraps into bearings. The drops are random so you may need to collect more or less scraps depending on your luck. You need 4 Bearings.

Bearings can be obtained from recycling mechanical scraps.

How to Make Bronze Bars

Bronze Bars can be made in the "Furnace" iconFurnace with x3 Copper Ore and x3 Tin Ore. You’ll need to build a furnace before you can forge Bronze Bars yourself!

The only way to obtain these materials is to mine them in "Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins" iconEufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins.

How to Get Copper Ore

Copper Ore is the most abundant ore in the mines. It can be found on the first level of the Abandoned Ruins and you’ll be able to get hundreds of the stuff in no time. You’ll get the most Copper Ore from mining big Copper Crystals found in the mines, but you’ll also get some ore from clearing the blue-brown debris that blocks your path. You’ll need x15 copper ore to make 5 Bronze Bars.

Copper Ore is found on every level of the Abandoned Ruins.

How to Get Tin Ore

Tin Ore can only be found in the mines once you’ve reached and unlocked at least the 3rd level of the Abandoned Ruins. To get to deeper levels of the mine, you need to search for door ways and holes downwards - most of the time they’ll be hidden behind depris so you’ll need to dig through it. It can be mined from silver spikey crystals. Once you’re at levels lower than the 3rd level, tin ore is very common and easy to mine. You’ll need x10 Tin Ore to make 5 Bronze Bars.

Alternatively, if you don’t fancy going mining, you can purchase Bronze Bars from Hammertime - the smithing shop. Prices fluctuate in Sandrock, but one Bronze Bar will cost around 45 Gols. Or, you could purchase some Tin Ore and Bronze Ore from "Eufaula Salvage Shop" iconEufaula Salvage Shop. Bronze Ore costs 4 each and Tin Ore costs 8 so it’s cheaper than purchasing the Bronze Bars outright.

How to Use the Grinder

The Grinder can be used to make more complex materials, mostly from Copper and Bronze Bars:
