Zaeed Massani Overview¶

Zaeed Massani is one of the most revered, but also feared Bounty Hunter, and Mercenary in the galaxy. He used to be one of the leaders of the Blue Suns gang before his co-founder and former partner Vido Santiago backstabbed him which led to him being shot, and thought dead. Ever since that incident, Zaeed has only had one thing on his mind, revenge. Some Point later, Cerberus offers Zaeed a job to help you out with your mission, but he requires your help first with his mission for revenge.

When do you get Zaeed¶

Zaeed was originally a DLC character in Mass Effect 2. But in the Legendary edition, he can be picked up by completing his mission Dossier: The Veteran after the prologue.

Disruptor Sniper Build¶

This build revolves around maxing out Zaeed’s Disruptor Ammo to hit enemy shields as hard as it can with his sniper, making him an effective way to deal with shields. We then max out his Mercenary Veteran passive skill line to increase his Weapon Damage a further 50%. Finally, we dip a few points into Concussive Shot and his loyalty powers to give him a bit of crowd control.

Inferno Grenade¶

Inferno Grenade will launch a volatile grenade that explodes on impact, sending shrapnel in multiple directions. These will have a fire property attached to them which will do increased damage against enemy armor.

Disruptor Ammo¶

Disruptor Ammo is great against shields, especially when it’s Sniper firing it. Once activated it will cause all bullets fired to have electromagnetic properties, dealing more damage to shields. We take the Heavy evolution of this power to increase the damage it does. If you don’t have any other Ammo powers in your squad, the Squad Disruptor Ammo variant could be better.

Mercenary Veteran¶

Mercenary Veteran is Zaeed’s passive skill line which’ll increase his Health, and Weapon Damage. This will increase his damage with Snipers whilst giving him a little more survivability, By taking the Warlord evolution, you’ll end up with an extra 15% Health, and 50% Weapon Damage.

Concussive Shot¶

Concussive Shot is average at higher difficulties, but can still be useful for knocking down enemies, and dispersing enemy barriers. We mainly put some points into this, so we can unlock Disruptor Ammo.

Best Weapons¶

This section will talk about what weapons are best for this particular build. This build relies on having the strongest Sniper possible to allow for one shot kills.

Sniper Rifle¶

The M-29 Incisor, originally a DLC weapon in the base game, can be purchased in the Citadel in the Legendary Edition.

Although it isn’t the best Sniper in the game, it works better for squad mates due to the way they use their weapons. The best Sniper stat wise is the M-98 Widow, and is definitely worth thinking about, but for Zaeed, the Incisor seems to do more DPS.

Assault Rifle¶

Although you’ll mainly be using the Sniper with Zaeed, it’s always nice to have a backup plan in the form of an Assault Rifle, and the M-96 Mattock is the choice for that due to its high damage, and Sniper like tendencies. The Vindicator is another solid Assault Rifle if you don’t want to use the Mattock. You can purchase the Mattock in Omega.
