The marker to begin this memory will appear near the bend in the Thames River, on the southern bank of the river beneath the major rail bridge linking the City of London with Southwark borough. As with the other Gang wars, it will appear only once all of the previous six associate activities have been completed.
Unlike the previous Gang Wars we’ve played so far however, instead of being broken down into two smaller fights, this activity merges them both into a single encounter. As soon as we begin, an initial fight will break out between our Rooks and a group of Blighters but rather than hanging back, the Gang Leader– Edith Swinebourne will also enter the fray from the start and will be identifiable by a berserk-style star icon above her head.
The Thames Gang War requires us to fight a group of Blighters made up of melee units (although some like to use their pistols more than others). You’ll need to eliminate 11 of them in total along with the Gang Leader to complete the activity.
As with most Gang Leaders, Edith Swinebourne is tough. She is a stronger version of a standard melee enemy who has a good Kukri equipped with which she can dish out a great deal of damage. Fortunately, as she joins in the initial gang battle, she can become focused on your Rooks and if you approach from the correct angle whilst she is distracted, you can pull off a quick assassination on her to kill her quickly. If she detects you however, you’ll need to eliminate her in the traditional way – using your guard breaks and counters effectively to whittle away her health.
