How to get the Confringo Spell in Hogwarts Legacy¶

Confringo is a powerful long range fire spell. It is taught to you by Sebastian in the Undercroft.

To get your hands on the Confingo Spell in Hogwarts Legacy, you are going to need to proceed with the main storyline in your first term. When you’re towards the end of the term, you are going to get an OWL letter from Sebastian, detailing you to meet him in the Dark Arts Tower. You will be brought into the Undercroft when you arrive, where he will teach you the spell.

You will learn the spell, and get to practice it on some Braziers on the ceiling. Once you’re done with the quest, you can use it on your travels.

Confringo can blast red shields from afar, and make enemies airborne.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. The main focus of this spell is to counter enemies’ red shields and deal damage against ranged foes. This is because, unlike Incendio, this spell is a ranged cast, and will hit targets a considerable distance away. Therefore, you are best using against those pesky Poacher Duellists, for example.

It is also a great tool for killing bosses too. When you start doing Trials, and have to ace off against the Pensieve Guardians, the skill will help to do a large amount of damage, compared to control charms and spells.

The skill is also very good for getting weaknesses onto enemies. The Inferius enemies are weak to fire, and can only take damage while they are hit with fire spells, or are ablaze from fire spells. Therefore, you will use this spell against Inferi enemies at range. Confringo is a very good move to use on your more regular enemies, like Poacher Trappers and others alike. The reason for this is down to the spell’s knockback. Like Levioso, this spell will launch enemies into the air, especially smaller or normal-sized creatures. So, getting them in the air will make them weak, improving your following basic attacks against them.

If you intend to upgrade the skill, you will need the Confringo Mastery, which adds a multi-target improvement. You can access the talent via the spell section in the talent tree. It is also possible to improve this skill via armor mods, which increase your spell damage, or your Confringo spell.
