There are over 100 Collection Chests for Wizards and Witches to find in Hogwarts Grounds, Hogsmeade and The Highlands. Collection Chests can contain either Wand Handles or Recipes for your Room of Requirement. This page will navigate you through the necessary steps to finding all 3 Collection Chests in The Great Hall portion of Hogwarts Grounds.

Collection Chest #1 - Great Hall¶

Head to this location on the map (left), to find the Collection Chest in a locked room. (right)

Once you’ve completed the Main Quest “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament”, head to the Great Hall via the Floo Flames and make a dart for the locked room in the back right corner. Use Alohomora to unlock it, then you’ll find the first Collection Chest on the Table.

Head to this location on the map (left), to find the Collection Chest locked behind an Animal Puzzle Door. (right)

Use the Great Hall Floo Flame to reset things, then face the double doors and go down the corridor to the right to find a door with an Animal Puzzles. Here you’ll want to change the symbol with two ? to the Hydra and the symbol with one ? to a Spider. Next up, use the Grand Staircase Floo Flame and head down the spiral staircase, then hug the left wall and you’ll get a prompt to “Tickle The Pear’’ as you pass a painting. Do this to reveal a hidden room, then you’ll find the Collection Chest sitting on a table near a shelf at the back center of the room.
