Sniper Elite 5

Receiver

By
Paul McNally

Now you may or may not know what a receiver is when it comes to guns, but if you are busy modding your weaponry on Sniper Elite 5, you will be aware that you can make some significant changes to the receiver in your arsenal. So let’s find out a bit more about this specific component.

What is a receiver in Sniper Elite 5?

Receivers are generally the same across all weapon formats.

The receiver is the part of the gun that houses several key mechanisms, such as the trigger, bolt, sight, barrel, stock and so on. It’s basically the part that receives all the other bits and, in massive layman’s terms, holds them all together. The middle bit if you will.

Obviously the receiver is different in terms of specs when it comes to rifles, SMGs and pistols but generally in Sniper Elite 5 you will get alterations that you can make to the trigger (long or short trigger travel), the bolt (heavy or light bolt) or a Reinforced Overpressure, which reinforces the internals of the weapons.

Some of the pistols can have their receiver converted to a .22 calibre which increases their stealth capability at the cost of reduced stopping power.

As with all other mods you may not notice anything dramatic about the weapon if you just change the receiver, but combined with a host of other changes, you can completely alter how the gun performs.
