Sniper Elite 5

M1911

By
Paul McNally

One of the most famous sidearms of the era, the US-made M1911 was a mainstay of infantry throughout World War II. Pistols are often overlooked in games such as Sniper Elite 5 but we found ourselves using them more and more as the game progressed, not just in unexpected melee kills but also to sneakily take out guards from close range with a suppressor on to keep the noise down.

The famous US pistol the M1911.

M1911 Pros and Cons

The M1911 was a popular sidearm with good reason. Powerful with a decent rate of fire you can get off a mag full of shots before your enemy even knows you are hiding in the bushes.

Pros

  • Powerful and versatile

Cons

  • Difficult to control

Audible Range

With an audible range of just 33m, the M1911 is the second quietest weapon in the whole game. This can be improved further with the addition of a suppressor.

Zoom

1x - All the pistols here are only coming with 1x zoom so it really isn’t a factor. The way you are using them, you probably want to be shooting from the hip rather than looking down the sight anyway.

Magazine size

Packing a seven cartridge magazine, the M1911 will get you out of a hole if you need some rapid fire quickly to take an enemy down in sudden close-combat

How to get the M1911 in Sniper Elite 5
