Our first German sidearm is a bit of a specialty and one you may well want to pick up when you get the opportunity to do so. While being a bit of an ugly gun don’t be fooled into thinking it is useless. Its 7.65mm rounds are capable of puncturing helmets using just standard ammo. You don’t need the armour piercing variety on this occasion.
Model D Pros and Cons¶
The Wehrmacht adopted the Model D after occupying France, It is one of the most easily controlled guns in the game and we would recommend picking one up if you find it dropped by a fallen enemy.
Pros¶
- Standard ammo penetrates helmets
Cons¶
- Very loud
Audible Range¶
The Model D is another loud handgun, not coming in much below the Mk VI revolver at 70m of audible range. It does have that armour piercing advantage though so yuo might be inclined to forgive its booming shot noise.
Zoom¶
1x - All the pistols here are only coming with 1x zoom so it really isn’t a factor. The way you are using them, you probably want to be shooting from the hip rather than looking down the sight anyway.
Magazine size¶
A nine shell magazine makes this weapon a tidy foe. While its stopping power might not be the greatest, its ability to pull off headshots on soldiers wearing helmets with standard ammo lifts it above what you might expect. The extra few bullets come in handy for totting up the body shots too.
