Sniper Elite 5

M1903

By
Paul McNally

The M.1903 rifle in Sniper Elite 5 is available from the very start of the game and can be customised quite dramatically to make a useful workhorse in the field.

The M.1903 is a useful starter weapon but you will soon progress past it.

M.1903 Pros and Cons

As long range sniper rifles go, this is a great gun to be given at the start of the game. There are some issues with it such as its noise - it sounds more like a cannon, and you will definitely want to progress to something more stealthy, if that’s how you like to play, as soon as you can.

Pros

  • Great at very long range
  • Minimal bullet drop

Cons

  • Slow firing

Audible Range

At 162m the M.1903 is the loudest rifle in the game. This can be reduced with a suppessor of course and quieter ammo, but you are still starting from a pretty loud bang.

Zoom

An 8x zoom is pretty handy meaning you can remove targets from the equation long before anybody knows you are even in the vicinity.

Magazine size

Holding only five shells should not really be an issue as you shouldn’t be using this gun for just popping off bullets at everybody, but in a bind, it can cause a problem as it is slow to reload.

Sights

Every good sniper rifle needs the perfect sight. Here are the optical customisations available for the M1903.

A5 Win & Co
