Sniper Elite 5

Objectives

Ah Mission 4: War Factory. This was an enjoyable mission until it totally bugged out on us right at the last part of the objective to complete the mission, forcing us to do it all again. We will explain more later, but because of it we are going to suggest you do this part first so you don’t waste as much time as we did.

Objectives

Operation Kraken takes another big hit with every completed objective.

  • Destroy the Furnace
  • Destroy the Refinery
  • Find the Kraken Shipping manifest

So here, because of our trauma we are going to suggest completing the Refinery section first. What happened to us was irritating and prevented us from completing the mission. Basically, once inside the Refinery you need to find the controls to smash the smelter into the other equipment but for us, the first time we activate the lever, absolutely nothing happened, so we went on assuming we must have missed something. After a while having decided there was nothing left to do we pulled the lever again, nothing happened. So we pulled it again and the smelter proceeded to move as it should and smash ito what it was supposed to do…and bounce off. That was it. We reloaded saves to no avail,

Upon re-doing the level from scratch it worked first time. So just be aware, we don;t actually know at what point it bugs out so a save game might not save you.

The objectives are pretty easy really, just head into each building and find what you need to pull off the sabotage. With the furnace, head up next to the furnace itself until you find the safety valves and activate them. Then go to the control room and crank up the pressure. The Furnace will blow itself up from there.

The Kraken SHipping Manifest is in a safe on the top floor. You can find the code on a soldier, but failing that a satchel charge will blow the safe more discreetly.

Optional objectives

  • Destroy the Steelworks

Destroying the Steelworks brings no rewards but sure does feel good.

The optional objective here is the same as the three main ones really, destroy part of the Kraken process via sabotage. You need to either blow the door to the control room with a satchel charge (be wary, there is a guard locked in there too, or kill the scientist and loot the key from his body. Activate the crane from inside and watch the havoc you create unfold.

Kill List

Find and Kill Matthaus Ehrlich

A successful rat bomb kill and the new weapon is unlocked for future use.

Destroying the furnace has a problem: if you do the two requirements in the wrong order, the furnace does not blow. You must overpressure it FIRST and then disable the safety valve.

Yes, it's annoying bugs like these that really shouldn't have made the final cut.
