When the Germans were looking for an all-round rifle to help give them the edge over the Allies they turned to a design based on the Soviet SVT rifles giving them a machine with a high magazine load, but one that ultimately turned out to be quite difficult to handle efficiently.
Gewehr 1943 Pros and Cons¶
The standard German rifle in the game and one that you will find lying on the ground next to the bodies of your kills. The fact that you will find it everywhere in the game will mean you end up using one sooner rather than later, but there are many better rifles in the game.
Pros¶
- Rapid fire
Cons¶
- Poor aim stability
- Long time to aim
Audible Range¶
One of the better factors for the Gewehr is a respectable audible range of just 130m, The issue is you probably need to multiply this several times as it could well take more than a single shot to take down your target due to poor aiming.
Zoom¶
The 6x zoom compared to the Allies general 8x ability might not sound like much, but when coupled with a long aim-time and general stability problems, everything comes together to make it a bit of a nightmare to use.
Magazine size¶
The large magazine size of 10 is one of the saving graces for the Gewehr 1943 meaning at least you could generally remove the factor of having to reload it in an intense combat situation.
How to get the Gewehr 1943 in Sniper Elite 5¶
