You’ll come across a variety of sub-objectives while working your way through the major orders, such as destroying Automatons, evacuating citizens, and more. We recommend that you go out of your way to complete these, as it’ll increase the amount of EXP and Credits you’ll obtain at the end of the mission while also giving you a greater chance at finding Samples. Destroying Fuel Silos in Helldivers 2¶
When deployed on a mission, you’ll occasionally come across fuel silos which are large structures with red lights scattered around it. You’re more likely to come across these sub-objectives while playing through the “Destroy Automatons” missions on Automaton-controlled planets in Helldivers 2. However, a lot of players seem to be confused on how to go about damaging these as your every day weapons and stratagems don’t seem to have any effect.
The first thing you’ll want to do when you track down a fuel silo is pick off all the enemies from a distance and this can be done by making use of Stratagems such as Orbital Strike, then in order to destroy the fuel silo itself you’ll want to enter the area as this will make the Hellbomb Stratagem accessible. Call it down in the center of the area and interact with it to activate it and then try and create some distance between you and the silo before it goes off.
