Helldivers 2 is a third person shooter which can be easily played through by yourself, although it’s mostly intended to be played in co-op. However, if you don’t have enough friends wanting to dive in, then you can make use of the matchmaking system to play along with some random players. On this page, we’ll guide you through the necessary steps to start matchmaking!
How Does Matchmaking Work in Helldivers 2?¶
If you are struggling to tackle some of the missions while playing solo in Helldivers 2, there’s no need to worry as you can join other player’s missions by visiting the Galactic War Table and then pressing on PlayStation or on Xbox to activate quickplay, which will look for players that have their SOS beacon active. Alternatively, if you want someone to join your mission, you can open up the settings menu and navigate to the options tab, then set your matchmaking privacy to “public” to allow other players join you on your quest.
How to Fix Server Request Failed in Helldivers 2¶
Unfortunately, a lot of players are encountering the “Server Request Failed” when attempting to make use of the Quickplay feature. However, there is a way around this until Arrowhead release a patch, and this is by deactivating crossplay which can be done by opening up the menu, navigating over to the options tab, then scrolling down to the gameplay options, where you can toggle crossplay to off. This will mean you won’t be able to pair up with other cadets that are playing on a different platform to you, so you may find that matchmaking will take a little longer, but you can at least make use of the quickplay feature on your preferred platform!
