Helldivers 2 is built around shooting stuff. Whether it is aliens, robots, or your teammates (accidentally) the game offers a good selection of guns for you to use in fights, as well as grenades to support your team and deal a lot of damage in one area. On this page, you can find a complete list of all the Helldivers 2 weapons and grenades, including the latest ones that have been added to the game.

The AR-23 Liberator is a solid starting gun.

AR-23 Liberator (Assault Rifle)

As the basic primary weapon in Helldivers 2, the AR-23 Liberator is a standard assault rifle that balances power, fire rate, and recoil to create a solid all-around option against smaller targets. It is also capable of dealing solid, sustained damage to larger targets.

Its weapon trait is: ‘Light Armour Penetrating’, allowing it to pierce through light armor that enemies may have.

AR-23 Liberator Stats:

This variant of the assault rifle is a solid option.

AR-23P Liberator Penetrator (Assault Rifle)

Available in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond, this is a stronger assault rifle best used in more challenging missions. The strongest aspect of this weapon is its ability to penetrate armor more easily. However, it is offset by slightly lower damage compared to the Liberator.

The weapon traits are: ‘Medium Armor Penetrating’.

The explosive variant of the AR-23P is a solid choice

AR-23P Liberator Explosive (Assault Rifle)

This variant of the Liberator halves the rate of fire but switches out bullets for bombs - or explosive ammo to be more precise. As such, this is a great crowd-control weapon and can work well with a team focused on fighting from a distance. It is available in the “Steeled Veterans” Warbond.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘Explosive’.

AR-23P Liberator Penetrator Stats:

This is the basic pistol in Helldivers 2 and not too great.

P-2 Peacemaker (Pistol)

The P-2 Peacemaker is your starting pistol option in the game. However, it isn’t too strong and you will probably want to switch off it as soon as you have the chance to.

Its weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘One Handed’.

P-2 Peacemaker Stats:

Based on the Uzi, this is a much better secondary option than the starting pistol.

P-19 Redeemer (Pistol)

This is a much better choice for a pistol. Being fully automatic you will have to reload a fair bit, but it has the highest fire rate of any secondary in the game, with solid damage too.

Its weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘One Handed’.

P-19 Redeemer Stats:

The P-4 Senator is a high-damage option for a secondary.

P-4 Senator (Pistol)

This pistol differs from the rest by ensuring you won’t lose ammo when reloading and focusing on damage over fire rate. As a revolver it deals a large amount of damage with each bullet, but at the cost of a low magazine and ammo. It is available in the “Steeled Veterans” Warbond.

Its weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’, ‘Round Reload’, and ‘One Handed’.

P-4 Senator Stats:

The SMG-37 Defender can spray bullets, but it has a lot of downsides too.

SMG-37 Defender (Submachine Gun)

This SMG is found in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond and is a fast-firing gun based on similar real-life examples like the MP7. It is able to output a ton of bullets in a relatively short amount of time. Although, you will have to contend with reloading a lot.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘One Handed’, with the latter allowing you to hold the weapon with one hand instead of two, due to its small size

The R-63 Diligence is best for those looking to fight from afar.

R-63 Diligence (Marksman Rifle)

This is the first marksman rifle you have access to in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond and provides a good overall starting point if you want a longer-range option as your primary weapon. It has a decent magazine size, solid damage, and a fast-fire rate, allowing you to unload bullets at a somewhat brisk pace compared to other slower-firing rifles.

It’s weapon trait is: ‘Light Armor Piercing’.

R-63 Diligence stats:

The Diligence Counter Sniper is a long-range semi-automatic rifle with a scope if you want to pick off aliens and robots from afar.

R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper (Marksman Rifle)

Available in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond this second marksman rifle is a lot like the first. But, it has a scope and is best suited for a playstyle that involves picking off enemies from afar, while your teammates are up close.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’.

R-63CS Diligence Counter Sniper stats:

Much like the Liberator, the Punisher is a good initial shotgun.

SG-8 Punisher (Shotgun)

This shotgun is unlocked in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond and is a solid initial shotgun to use. It has a decently fast rate of fire and is more than capable of killing most small bugs in one shot, even from long distances.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘Rounds Reload’, with the latter meaning you reload rounds individually, and therefore won’t lose any ammo if you reload as you aren’t ditching a magazine.

SG-225 Breaker (Shotgun)

This shotgun is on page 4 in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond and is an automatic option for those who want to offload even more bullets. Unlock the pump-action options, this has a stunning 300 rounds-per-minute fire rate, although its small magazine size means you will need to resupply a lot in missions.

The weapon traits for this shotgun are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’.

SG-225 Breaker stats:

Replacing buckshot with a slug shot, this gun is best used for single-target damage.

SG-8S Slugger (Shotgun)

This shotgun is unlocked on page 8 of the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond and is unique. Instead of shooting several pellets with each shot, the Slugger shoots a single pellet. However, it deals all its damage with that one pellet, making it a great weapon for taking on bosses and stronger aliens and robots.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘Rounds Reload’.

This shotgun is another automatic option, although it has significantly more ammo in a clip.

SG-225SP Breaker Spray&Pray (Shotgun)

Functionally, the Spray and Pray variant of the SG-225 Breaker is the exact same gun as its normal variant. However, it has double the amount of bullets in a magazine, allowing you to really cover a battlefield in bodies. It does do half the damage though, so be cautious when you unlock it from the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’.

SG-225SP Breaker Spray&Pray stats:

Spray and pray fire with this variant of the Breaker.

SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary (Shotgun)

Available in the “Steeled Veterans” Warbond, this variant of the Breaker is focused on incendiary damage thanks to pellets that are imbued with fire.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘Incendiary’.

The LAS-5 Scythe is a energy-based sniper effectively.

LAS-5 Scythe (Energy-based)

This is the first energy-based weapon you will be able to get your hands on in Helldivers 2 within the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond. It is a pretty solid option with a quick stun time. However, it is a precision weapon, so don’t expect to be able to hold your own in close quarters with this.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’, ‘Beam’, and ‘Heat’.

This energy-based weapon is a blend of a shotgun and SMG.

PLAS-1 Scorcher (Energy-based)

The final weapon in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond is the PLAS-1 Scorcher. This energy weapon acts a bit like a shotgun and SMG smashed together and does solid damage, as well as the capability to deal explosive damage in an area.

The weapon traits are: ‘Light Armor Penetrating’ and ‘Explosive’.

The first Explosive weapon in Helldivers 2 is one to grab.

JAR-5 Dominator (Explosive)

The only explosive weapon in the game currently is the JAR-5. This shoots out grenades and as such, is a fantastic weapon on higher missions due to its damage output. It is available in the “Steeled Veterans” Warbond.

The weapon traits are: ‘Medium Armor Penetrating’.

This high-impact grenade is your starting choice in Helldivers 2

G-12 High Explosive (Grenade)

This initial grenade is a great option in any fight. It does the most amount of damage of all the grenades, but it does have a longer fuse time.

G-12 High Explosive stats:

The standard frag grenade is a good initial grenade.

G-6 Frag (Grenade)

This is your standard frag grenade, nothing too special about it. It is available in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond.

G-6 Frag stats:

Fuse Time 2.4 seconds

Deal instant damage with the impact grenade, just don’t accidentally hit your fellow Helldivers.

G-16 Impact (Grenade)

If you want an instant explosion and are sick of aliens escaping your grenade’s radius, then the Impact is for you. It will go off as soon as it touches a surface. It is available in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond.

G-16 Impact stats:

The Smoke is a good way to enshroud enemies and block off areas.

G-3 Smoke (Grenade)

While this grenade doesn’t do any damage, it will cover an area in smoke, allowing you to avoid projectiles and lasers from range and get around groups of enemies without being spotted. It is available in the “Helldivers Mobilize!” Warbond.

G-3 Smoke stats:

This grenade spreads fire throughout an area, allowing you to lock down paths.

G-10 Incendiary (Grenade)

While this grenade doesn’t do as much damage as others, it has the benefit of coating areas and choke points in fire dealing sustained damage to large groups of aliens and robots. It is available in the “Steeled Veterans” Warbond.
