Chargers are one of the tougher Terminids in Helldivers 2, especially at the earlier difficulties. Being able to take them down is one of your first real challenges when fighting the bugs before you can move on to fighting larger hordes and Bile Titans. How To Kill Chargers In Helldivers 2¶
There are some core strategies you can adopt to kill Chargers in Helldivers 2:
- Get the Charger to run into rocks and other terrain
- Use heavy support weapons
- Attach orbital strikes to the Charger
- Circle-strafe and then dive out of the way
- Target the same limb with two rockets
The most important tip when it comes to fighting Chargers is to always move around and between rocks and other pieces of terrain. By doing so, when the Charger runs at you it will run into the rock or boulder, stunning it for a few brief seconds, allowing you to target its weak spot behind its back. When doing this you also want to use any heavy support weapons you can call down from your ship.
On the lower difficulties, the machine gun is the weapon you should choose as it has a solid magazine size and decent damage. You can also pair this with orbital strikes that can stick to enemies if you hit them with the beacon.
The best way to target their weak spot is to have it charge into a rock.
Then, some more advanced techniques to take down chargers involve circle strafing. This is where as a Charger runs towards you, move around in a small circle in one spot. Because of how movement works this gives you the most control. Whereas if you are running in a direction, you won’t be able to dive backward or to the side at a sharp angle as easily. Just before the Charger is in front of you, dive to the side (about 80-120 degrees) from the Charger, ideally to your right as it is easier to see more on this side. This will allow you to jump directly out of the way, without taking any damage.
This works best when you aren’t surrounded by other enemies and are facing the Charger one-on-one. The Charger will then run past you, and you can lay on the ground and spray it with bullets. Finally, if you are playing on co-op work with a buddy to use two rocket launchers at the same time. If you both target the body part, the Charger will instantly die as you will expose its flesh and hit that flesh at the same time.

Overall, the Chargers are one of the more difficult Terminids to fight. They are arguably harder than the Bile Titans. But, once you get the hang of these tactics and work with your team, you can make short work of the heavily armored enemies.
Where To Find Chargers In Helldivers 2¶
The best place to find Chargers is in the ‘Eliminate Charger’ missions which can be found on the Medium and Challenging difficulty missions. The primary objective in these missions is to defeat Chargers, which means you are guaranteed to find them, rather than simply hoping one will appear as you are exploring.
Lower difficulties are where you can kill Chargers more easily.
