If you have got your feet settled on your ship and got to grips with what it means to become a Helldiver, you may be curious as to how you can expand your arsenal, customization items, and gear during your career. Thankfully, there is a way to expand your collection of items by earning Medals in Helldivers 2.
Initially, it isn’t clear how you can do this, but there are two main ways you can collect them. With enough, you can then spend them to unlock weapons in Helldivers 2, as well as other gear to add some personality to your Helldiver.
How to earn Medals in Helldivers 2¶
Medals in Helldivers 2 can be obtained by completing main objectives during missions or scattered around the map during those missions. Finishing these core goals will give you a few Medals each time you extract. The harder the mission and its difficulty, the more Medals you will get. Generally, side objectives and other tasks within missions won’t provide you with any medals.
However, you don’t want to spend too much time exploring for Medals in a mission. Finding them in the world isn’t too common, so it is best to rely on completing missions to earn enough Medals.
Completing missions and entire operations is the best method to earn Medals fast.
When finished with a mission, you can then head to the Acquisitions menu and spend your Medals on rewards from the Warbonds (which are effectively the game’s battle passes).
Best Helldivers 2 Medal Farm¶
The best way to farm Helldivers 2 Medals right now is by completing the quicker missions. This induces “Blitz: Search and Destroy” and “Eliminate” missions where you have to kill several bugs or robots. The vast majority of other missions will take much longer to complete or require you to complete objectives which means there is less of a guarantee that you will be able to succeed.
Additionally, when choosing missions try to find “Eliminate” missions that require you to kill regular bugs, not bosses like the Charger. These bosses are quite tough to take down, so it’s best to just find a mission focused on eradicating swarms of easy-to-kill bugs.
The mission screen offers about half-a-dozen different missions to take on at any one time.
