As with weapons, Helldivers 2 has a ton of Stratagems for you to use, but with so many, you may be stuck trying to figure out what you should spend your hard-earned Requisition Slips on. To save you from making a poor purchase, we have picked out around half a dozen of the best stratagems to use in Helldivers 2 right now.

While there are a lot of Helldivers 2 Stratagems to choose from, this list highlights one or two from each category to allow you to craft your own loadouts based on how you want to play, such as focusing on a defensive build or something that prioritizes heavy damage from support weapons and sentries.

The best Stratagems in Helldivers 2 are:

Flamethrower¶

As mentioned in our Helldivers 2 best weapons guide, the Flamethrower is not the top support weapon you want to use. Overtaking the Railgun after a nerf, this weapon is fantastic at killing large swarms of Terminids thanks to its boosted fire rate. It isn’t quite as strong against Automatons however.

It can deal an insane amount of damage at close range and completely wipe out swarms in seconds. Compared to everything else in the ‘Patriotic Administration Center’ category, it definitely holds the top spot right now.

Orbital Laser¶

Overall, the Orbital attacks aren’t quite as strong as some of the other Stratagems right now, but if you want to choose one then the Orbital Laser is the one to pick. This has the best mix of being able to target a single enemy and also a group while doing sustained damage. So, if you slightly miss a target, then this strike allows you to have a second chance of hitting an enemy as it sweeps the area.

Eagle Airstrike¶

One of the earliest unlocks in the Stratagems section of the ship menu, the Eagle Airstrike remains one of the best choices. Dealing a lot of damage in a wide area, it can clear a whole section of an area, like a bug nest or Fabricator outpost.

Although the damage doesn’t ever get better, it can be a great crowd-control Stratagem, which is still useful even on the higher difficulty modes in Helldivers 2.

Jump Pack¶

There are very few traversal-based Stratagems in the game right now, but the Jump Pack is the one to choose if you are looking for some enhanced mobility. This can get you out of danger when being chased, and also help you traverse across a planet quicker.

It is also a surprisingly good way to avoid Chargers, tank shots, and other attacks from large enemies and bosses.

Eagle 500KG Bomb¶

Our final choice in the Hangar category is the Eagle 500KG Bomb. It is the final unlock available in the category and by far one of the most damaging Stratagems. That is why it gets a spot on the list.

With a near instant call-in time, it can obliterate Bile Titans, tanks, and other boss-level enemies almost immediately, without the need to worry about the target escaping.

Shield Generator Relay¶

By now, you have probably realized that the Automatons are far tougher than the Terminids. When it comes to taking them on, you will want at least two members of your team to have the Shield Generator Relay. This protective barrier creates a dome around where it is called in, deflecting any damage, which allows you to block lasers, rockets from tanks, and any other bullets that the Automatons send your way.

It also has its uses against the Terminids, but this is one of the best Stratagems against Automatons and one you should rely on when taking on these missions.

“Guard Dog” Rover¶

In our guide covering the The Guard Dog or Guard Dog Rover, we end up suggesting the “Guard Dog” Rover. Firing bullets is generally better than a laser and those bullets are less likely to hit you than a laser, which makes it the obvious choice.

Rocket Sentry¶

There are a ton of sentry options in the game right now. The best, by far, is the Rocket Sentry. This does an intense amount of damage and can also fire accurately from afar. Because of its strength, it can also pierce through armor and stronger enemies.

However, as with any rockets, and especially any sentries, you don’t want to accidentally kill your fellow Helldivers. So, there is a lot of risk to using this sentry as it is automated. You can use it when facing an oncoming swarm or in tandem with the Shield Generator which can protect you and your team.
