Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion

How to Get the Cursed Ring

How to get the Cursed Ring at the beginning of the game in Crisis Core Reunion, which is an accessory that Zack can equip to his character.

How to Unlock the Cursed Ring in Crisis Core Reunion

While there may be other ways to get the Cursed Ring later in the game, it is possible to get it at the very beginning of the game. Play through the Prologue and defeat the Behemoth boss at the end of it. You will end up back at Shinra following these events, where you will witness some cutscenes. You will be introduced to the mission system, then be told to check the lockers nearby. This is where the Cursed Ring will come from, but it will take a little bit of button mashing to actually obtain it.

(1 of 4) You will be able to check the lockers in between missions

When you initially check the locker, you will receive a Bronze Bangle, which is an accessory that increases your HP. If you check the locker again, Kunsel will mention to not get greedy and that there’s nothing there. However, keep checking the locker and you will eventually have Kunsel hand over the Cursed Ring to you (it takes about 20 times).

What Does the Cursed Ring Do?

The Cursed Ring is an accessory that you can equip, which gives quite a bit of stats to Zack. You will receive +10% to HP, MP and AP, as well as +10 stats to Strength, Vitality, Magic, Spirit and Luck. That may seem like a great accessory to use, but there is a downside to equipping it. Whenever you use the Cursed Ring, you will lose access to the DMW during battles. That means you won’t be getting any buffs from it, be able to use Limit Breaks, and you can’t even level up with the accessory equipped!

The Cursed Ring does give some great stats for the beginning of the game (left), but you won’t be able to use the DMW at all during combat (right)

The Cursed Ring is essentially an accessory that makes the game harder for you, so if you think the game is too easy, you can use this to make a self-imposed challenge for yourself.
