Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion

Stats Explanation in Crisis Core Reunion

By
Matt Chard

As you play through Crisis Core Reunion, and you open up your menu. One of the first things you’ll notice is the abundance of stats on the screen. A large part of the game revolves around increasing these parameters as they will make you stronger. Although there is an in-game tutorial for them, it’s easy to overlook. Thankfully, this page will guide you through what stats there are, and what they do.

You can find the Stats on the right side of the screen in the main menu.

HP (Hit Points)

This number represents your health which will decrease every time you take any damage until it reaches zero. When it reaches zero it will be Game Over unless you have a raise or endure status effect on you. In that case, you’ll be resurrected. The maximum number this can reach is 9,999 unless you equip the "Adaman Bangle" iconAdaman Bangle or the "Genji Armor" iconGenji Armor. These accessories allow you to “break the limit cap” from 9,999, and allow your maximum to reach 99,999. There are various ways to replenish HP in the game from Materia including "Cure" iconCure, "Cura" iconCura, and "Curaga" iconCuraga, and "Drain" iconDrain to using items such as "Potion" iconPotion, "Hi-Potion" iconHi-Potion, "X-Potion" iconX-Potion, and "Elixir" iconElixir. You can use our guide here to break the HP limit.

When your HP (health) reaches zero, you will die and get Game Over.

MP (Magic Points)

MP is responsible for casting most magic materia in Crisis Core Reunion. You can only lose MP if you cast Magic or an enemy uses a form of MP drain on you like "Osmose" iconOsmose. Unlike HP, if this number hits zero, there isn’t any negative outcome other than you won’t be able to cast Magic until it’s replenished. You can replenish your MP by using items such as "Ether" iconEther or Elixir or using an Osmose Materia yourself. This stat is capped at 999 unless you break the limit by equipping the "Gold Hairpin" iconGold Hairpin accessory which will raise it to 9,999. Later on in the game, you can get accessories like "Genji Helm" iconGenji Helm which allows you to cast Magic without using any MP.

AP (Action Points)

This stat is similar to MP where you’ll consume it by using Materia. Where MP is used for Magic Materia, AP is used for Command Materia such as "Assault Twister" iconAssault Twister, and "Jump" iconJump which are special skill-based attacks. Once again, there are no ill effects to reaching zero AP other than you won’t be able to cast Command Materia until it’s replenished. You can replenish your AP by using items such as a "Soma" iconSoma or Elixir. This stat is also capped at 999 until you break its limit cap by equipping the "Black Cowl" iconBlack Cowl accessory. Later on in the game, you can get accessories like Genji Helm which allows you to cast Command Materia without using any AP.

SP (SOLDIER Points)

SP is primarily used to make the Digital Mind Wave (DMW) spin. If you have no SP, the DMW won’t spin again until you replenish it. This can stop you from leveling, or getting any helpful benefits during battle. Another very important use for SP is it used to fuse Materia in the Materia Fusion system. The higher the fusion, the more SP you’ll consume, and this can reach into the millions. Thankfully, SP can be replenished converting unwanted Materia, defeating enemies (especially "Mover" iconMovers), and performing Limit Breaks. This is capped at 999,999,999 SP.

ATK (Attack)

ATK is responsible for how much damage you can inflict with physical attacks. The maximum value for this stat is 255, and you can reach it by equipping accessories like "Ziedrich" iconZiedrich and "Divine Slayer" iconDivine Slayer as well as Materia such as "ATK Up" iconATK Up. This can be further enhanced by adding "Hero Drink" iconHero Drinks to your Materia Fusion. The maximum your attacks can reach is 9,999 unless you break the damage limit. You can find out how to do that here.
