Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion

Mission 6-6-6: The Don's Twilight

By
Jarrod Garripoli

There are 300 optional missions in Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion. The Don’s Twilight (M6-6-6) can be found in the Seeking Precious Items Category.

How to Unlock Mission 6-6-6

The Don’s Twilight will be the end of a string of missions, with the first one unlocking at the beginning of Chapter 2. Simply reaching that point of the main story will unlock Mission 6-1-1. Do this set of missions to unlock Mission 6-3-1, then from there, keep doing missions to eventually unlock Mission 6-6-6: The Don’s Twilight. Note that the missions will get progressively more difficult, so you may need to come back to them a little later on in the main story, once you have more tools in your disposal.

How to Defeat the Humbaba

(1 of 3) Humbaba will give a Critical buff whenever you hit it sometimes

The final enemy you will face in Mission 6-6-6 is the "Humbaba" iconHumbaba, a "Behemoth" iconBehemoth-class enemy. It has a lot of similarities to the other Behemoth enemies, but with enough differences that it needs its own page. It should be noted that the Humbaba is quite strong, so definitely make sure you are strong enough to fight it. If you fought the "Jabberwock" iconJabberwock in the Great Cavern of Wonders category, then you will find that the Humbaba is a more melee-oriented version. It doesn’t have any offensive spells, so you won’t be seeing anything like "Ultima" iconUltima or "Flare" iconFlare.

It has the double claw swipe normal attack, as well as the tail swipe, too. You’ll likely see the latter more if you try to attack the Humbaba from behind. Gyro Tail is something you’ve likely seen a lot of in regards to Behemoths, with the Humbaba also utilizing it. This is a spin attack with its tail that deals heavy physical damage. Uppercut is its other main skill, which is similar to Heave and Thwack. The Humbaba will charge you and try to smack you with its head/horns. With some Damage Up buffs, Uppercut has a chance to deal major/fatal damage with just one attack, so you want to be careful.

The Humbaba also has a number of buffs it will use, with Damage Up being one of its main ones (seems to only grant the critical status). This is triggered by using certain types of attacks, like "Costly Punch" iconCostly Punch, although it does give you a chance to get an extra hit in as it casts it often. Psych Up! grants it the Endure status, Defense gives it null physical, Magic Defense gives it null magic, and Make Invincible gives "Barrier" iconBarrier, "MBarrier" iconMBarrier, No MP Cost and Invincible. Other than the invincibility, Costly Punch will bypass everything else, so it’s one of the best attacks to use here.

(1 of 2) The Humbaba will use Meteorite to end the battle, as a last resort

The Humbaba will use Meteorite to end the battle, as a last resort (left), A high SPR stat will mitigate the damage from Meteorite (right)

The "Energy" iconEnergy Materia is another great one, since it hits like 4-5 times, doesn’t cost a lot of MP, and can be quite powerful with high MAG. As with some of the other enemies of the same class, the Humbaba isn’t finished when you deplete its HP to zero. It will begin charging for one final attack, Meteorite, complete with a special ability gauge on your screen. Attacking it will deplete the gauge, but it might be challenging to empty it completely. Meteorite does magic damage, so having a high SPR stat will help in lowering the damage. Note that Energy might be good enough, depending on its damage, in depleting the gauge. If all else fails, you can simply use a "Phoenix Down" iconPhoenix Down, if you know you’re going to fall to the attack.

Note that the Humbaba is a great source of "Fat Chocobo Feather" iconFat Chocobo Feathers, since you can both steal them from the creatre, as well as get them from drops.
