Description¶

These quests are given by various Unique NPCs found across the Bionis’ Shoulder.

Quests Available Immediately¶

Ether Exploitation¶

You’ll be able to pick this quest up once you reach Companions’ Cape on the Bionis’ Shoulder. This quest acts as a sort of introduction into mining ether deposits in Future Connected. Carranelle will give you a Common Ether Pick and ask you to mine the deposit nearby. When you do so, you’ll end up breaking the pickaxe. When you return to Carranelle to complete the quest, you’ll be rewarded with an Ether Pick to mine gems directly from ether deposits.

Ether Font¶

Tulleana can be found at Companions’ Cape. This quest asks you to exterminate 3 Wind Nebula and 3 Aqua Nebula. Wind Nebulae can be found near to the Navvir Crossroads landmark and Aqua Nebulae are found around Junks and Purifying Falls. Once you have defeated the required amount of both Nebulae, return to Tulleana to complete the quest.

Laennar’s Worries¶

This quest can be picked up from Laennar once you reach Companions’ Cape. To complete this quest, you wil need to finish three other quests that Laennar needs doing. These quests are Plump Pickings, Praying Caterpile Control and Supplant the Noble Brogs.

Once you have completed the other quests, you’ll be able to return to Laennar and finish up this quest as well.

Plump Pickings¶

This quest must be completed in order to progress with Laennar’s quest, Laennar’s Worries. You’ll automatically pick this quest up once you have activated Laennar’s Worries. You will need to collect 5 bundles of Plump Wildgrass near the Navvir Crossroads landmark and Purifying Falls. They are represented by red shiny orbs so they won’t be too difficult to find. When you have harvested the required amount, the quest will automatically be completed.

Praying Caterpile Control¶

This quest must be completed in order to progress with Laennar’s quest, Laennar’s Worries. You’ll automatically pick this quest up once you have activated Laennar’s Worries. You will need to defeat 3 Praying Caterpiles near Navvir Crossroads. The Caterpiles are nearby where you will find the Plump Wildgrass needed for Plump Pickings, so you won’t need to travel around too much. This quest will automatically complete when you have defeated the required amount of Caterpiles.

Supplant the Noble Brogs¶

This quest must be completed in order to progress with Laennar’s quest, Laennar’s Worries. You’ll automatically pick this quest up once you have activated Laennar’s Worries. You’ve been tasked with defeating 2 Noble Brogs, which are found near Purifying Falls. Purifying Falls is close to the Navvir Crossroads landmark, so you can fast travel there to save time. Once you have defeated 2 of them, the quest will automatically complete.

Hunting Help¶

Haemlin can be found at the Companions’ Cape. He will ask you to help him stockpile some food by hunting for Makna Eks. Firstly, he wants you to defeat Makna Eks at Navvir Highlands and collect 4 Eks Iron Hearts. These are a fairly common drop, so yuo won’t need to farm for too long. After this, you will need to collect 3 Rainbow Carrots, which are a collectable found across the Bionis’ Shoulder. Then, you’ll need to head to a rock in the north-west region of Navvir Highland and place the carrots there to lure more Makna Eks. This will help future hunts. Once you have completed all of these steps, return to Haemlin to complete the quest.

Lost & Found¶

Poroporo can be found west of the Skybridge landmark. He will ask you to find 20 of his lost Poroporo’s Favourites. They can be found at the locations below:

You can get rewards when you hit certain quantities of collected Favourties:

When you have finally collected all of the Favourites, you will complete the mission. Please be aware that you must progress far enough in the story quest to have access to both Teelan’s Laboratory and Gran Dell, in order to collect all items.

Quests Available Once You Have Reached Alcamoth¶

No Armu Done¶

This quest will trigger when you approach Laffaelle near Thulles Way. It is only available to activate once you have been to Alcamoth. You will be required to save Laffaelle from 3 Antol enemies that have cornered her on a cliff edge. Once you have defeated the enemies, speak to her to complete the quest.

Brother’s Keepsake¶

This quest will become available when you have defeated the Somnivore Lexos at Soltnar Seal Island, on the way to Alcamoth. You will have the option to give the ID card you found to Lavean after you’ve been to Alcamoth, who will then ask you to also find his brother’s bangle near Shoulderstone Scree. When you approach the area, several Eluca enemies will spawn from the ground. You’ll likely have to defeat them first to pick up the bangle. When you have the bangle, return to Lavean to complete the quest.

Quests Available After Reaching Gran Dell¶

Finding Happiness¶

Lott can be found near the Grand Arch landmark in Gran Dell. He will ask you what you saw on the way to Gran Dell. Your choice doesn’t determine whether you get this quest or not, so pick whatever you see fit. He will ask you to fetch a Cerulean Shard, which can be found to the right of the Barouh Ruins Cave entrance. When you have the shard, return to Lott to complete the quest. He will make you a Reinforced Ether Pick and you’ll now be able to mine for better gems from ether deposits.

Wallflower¶

Angela is found between Gran Dell Approach and Grand Arch. You can only pick this quest up from Angela if Kino is leading the party. She will ask you to help her make friends. You will need to speak to Selene, Nestinor and Rudodo. Because these are all children, they will only be available to find during the day. Nestinor can be found north of Tranquil Tarn, Selene is on a balcony a few levels up from the Grand Arch and Rudodo is nearby the Gran Dell Approach. When you have spoken to all of them, return to Angela to complete the quest.

Fixing Up the Junks¶

Helmaline can be found near the Great Arch during the day. To pick up this quest, you must have Shulk as party leader. She will ask you to go and investigate the broken down airships in Alcamoth. The first one will be near the Main Entrance, the second near Melfica Road and then the third on the mezzanine south-east of Melfica Road. When you have examined all of them, return to Helmaline to complete the quest.

Inclined to Climb¶

You will find Shoo-shoo nearby Agni’s Birthplace and north of Gran Dell. You may only activate this quest with Nene as lead. Shoo-shoo will ask you to gather a Peppity Herb from nearby the Cragmaw Caverns. When you have collected it, return it to Shoo-shoo. When you do so, it will trigger the spawning of the Revenant Volff and several lesser Volff enemies. Defeat them and protect Shoo-shoo to complete the quest.

New Way of Life¶

Ines can be found in Halcyon Wheats nearby the Agni’s Birthplace landmark. She has asked that you collect 4 lots of Thick Nectar and 5 High Leaves to make a growth stimulant. The Thick Nectar can be obtained from slaying Skeeters near Xen’s Thoroughfare and High Leaves are a collectable found across the Bionis’ Shoulder. When you have all of the desired materials, return to Ines to complete the quest.

Rubble Trouble¶

Selsetana can be found near the Grand Arch in Gran Dell. She has asked you to find 3 pieces of Hover Stone. You can find these items at Soltnar Seal Island, Pillar Knoll and Scapular Lance. Once you have fetched all three stones, return to Selsetana to complete the quest.

Sweetest Debt¶

This quest can be picked up from Arara near the Grand Arch. It is worth mentioning though that you will not be able to complete this quest until you have completed A Surefire Hit, which is not available until after the Fog Beast Attack. Firstly, you’ll be asked to collect 7 Kilopumpkins, which are a collectable found across the Bionis’ Shoulder. Then, you’ll need to pick up the Sweet Cherry, which is located around Tranquil Tarn. After you have collected these you’ll need to bring them to the chef, Thad. But he will only make the cake once you’ve helped him out with his quest. After he has accepted your request, return to Arara to complete the quest.

Quests Available After Witnessing Events at Teelan’s Laboratory¶

Steady on, Grandad!¶

To access this quest, Shulk must be the party lead. Miles can be found between Gran Dell Approach and Grand Arch. He asks you to collect a First-Aid Kit. Head over to the Junks to aquire one. When you reach the Junks, you’ll discover that the first-aid kit has gone missing. Your next objective will be to look for the person who took the kit. The person in question is Sorthas, you’ll be able to find him in a tunnel to the south in Nerthis Necropolis. When you approach him, you’ll be given two options in the dialogue. You can pick whichever option as the outcome and rewards are the same. He will give you back the first-aid kit and you can return to Miles in Gran Dell to complete the quest.

Hook, Line, and Sinker¶

Vredda can be found near the Grand Arch in Gran Dell. She asks you to collect some materials for her so that she can make a new fishing device. She needs 3 Snare Wires and 3 Half Parts. Both are collectables found across the Bionis’ Shoulder. Once you have the parts, take them to Vredda. She will then give you the Katchafish DX to give to Bartholomew. Bartholomew can be found on the bridge near Heroes’ Rest, south of Prayer Rock. Giving Bartholomew the new device will complete the quest.

Sorrow¶

Nestinor wants to place some flowers at a grave at Heroes’ Rest. He asks you to fetch him 3 Dawn Smiles from Lamentation Ridge. To get to Lamentation Ridge you’ll have to fast travel to Xen’s Thoroughfare and then walk north until you reach the ramp that takes you up to the ridge. The Flowers you need to collect are right at the end of the ridge, so you’ll have to walk up for a bit. One of the flowers is also guarded by 3 Kromar enemies that attack on sight, so you’ll likely have to fight them. When you have all 3 flowers, head over to Prayer Rock and swim to Heroes’ Rest, where you’ll find Nestinor standing near a grave. Speak to him to complete the quest.

Secure the Area¶

You can find Mithril on the banks near the Junks. He asks you to help him secure the area surrounding the lake. Your task is to take out 3 Clamouring Paguls that are on the south shore from the Junks. Once you have defeated those, head back to Mithril to complete the quest.

Shoulder Survey Snaps¶

Melekanze can be found near the Old Expedition HQ, east of Quarry Colonnade. Shulk must also be party lead in order to pick this quest up. Melekanze will ask you to take a photo of a Glow Deinos and a Dozy Eluca. The Glow Deinos is in the Forbidden Hushland and the Dozy Eluca is nearby the Abaasy’s Dorsum landmark. To take a photo, all you need to do is get into range of them and a cut scene will be triggered. Return to Melekanze when you’ve taken both photos, to complete the quest.

Rival Hearts¶

This quest can be picked up once you have witnessed the events at Teelan’s Laboratory. Ardred, who is found near the Gran Dell Approach, has asked that you find somoene who can make a ring for Winnie. Speak to Qarz, who is located near the Grand Arch. He will make a ring but he needs one Brightite. This can be found near the entrance to Zekr Marga Quarry in the Forbidden Hushland. Once you have retrieved it, return to Qarz so that he can make the ring. Then, to complete the quest, you’ll need to give the ring over to Ardred.

Brace for Friendship¶

After you have completed Sorrow, you’ll be able to pick this quest up from Angela. Kino must be the party leader, though. Firstly, she will ask you to collect 5 pieces of Elastic Ivy, which can be found nearby Thulles Way. When you return them to her, she will then ask you to fetch her 5 Sparkle Stones from near the rocks by the lake that Junks is currently in. When you have all pieces, you can return to Angela to complete the quest.

Quests Available After the Fog Beast Attack¶

The Quest for Radzamalt³¶

This quest becomes available from Radzam once you have witnessed the Fog Beast attack. Radzam can be found near the Grand Arch in Gran Dell. He asks you to gather 3 Glutton Herbs so that he can make his nutritional solution, Radzamalt³. You can find all 3 of the herbs in Agni’s Skygarden Ruins near the Old King’s Testament. When you have them, return to Radzam to complete the quest.

A Surefire Hit¶

Thad can be found near the Grand Arch in Gran Dell. He has a crush on Tyrea and wants to make a home-cooked meal for her to impress her. He needs 3 bunches of Cream Wheat, 3 Gentle Clams and 3 Angel Breams. Both the Gentle Clams and Angel Breams are collectables that specifically spawn on the lake near Prayer Rock. Cream Wheat is found in Halcyon Wheats fields near Agni’s Birthplace. When you have all of the collectables, return to Thad to complete the quest.

Stubborn Minds¶

This quest becomes available after you have completed the Fog Beast attack and Rival Hearts. Winnie, who is found near Gran Dell Approach. She will ask you to find both Ardred and Qarz at Zekr Marga Quarry. They are on opposite ends of the quarry, both at ether deposits. You do not need to fight any enmeis in there, but do tread carefully as to not aggro any (if you don’t want to). When you have spoken to both men, return to Winnie to complete the quest.

The Fallen¶

To access this quest, you must have completed a Brace for Friendship. Selene will give you a letter addressed to Melia, telling her to meet the note sender at Companions’ Cape. You’ll have to walk all the way south from Companions’ Cape to the cliff’s edge to meet the mysterious note sender. The mystery letter sender turns out to be Gael’gar, who lures you there to defeat you. You will have to once again fight him, though this time he is referred to as Resentful Gael’gar. When you have defeated him, speak to him again. The quest completes automatically after Gael’gar takes his own life.

Final Quest¶

This quest is available after you have completed all other quests in the game, including side quest and Ponspector quests.

The Future Within Our Grasp¶

To activate this quest, Melia must be the party lead. Maxis, found in the square between Grand Arch and Gran Dell Approach, asks you to investigate why some people have been acting strangely as of late. Firstly, you’re tasked with speaking to Poroporo, who can now be found near the Grand Arch. He will then tell you to speak to Maxis again about a “mystery drink”. When you do so, you will trigger a cut scene that reveals the return of Bana the Betrayer! He will run off to Halcyon Wheats, and your next objective will be to chase him down. When you approach him in the fields, you’ll trigger another cut scene, which will then lead to a forced fight between your party and Diabolical Bana. The fight is not as challenging as the fight in the final Ponspector quest, but it will still be quite a tough battle. When you have defeated him, talk to Bana for a final time to complete the quest.
