Description

Heavy Armour favours high Physical Defence and typically have lower Ether Defence. None of the characters can equip heavy armour by default, but Reyn and Dunban can unlock the skills. The other characters (except Seven) can unlock the ability to wear heavy armour through skill links.

Top 3 Heavy Armour Sets

Gracielle Armour Set

This set has the lowest Physical Defence and Ether Defence of the armour sets in this list. However, there are some pieces in this set that are particularly strong and could be used separately. The stronger pieces in this set are the Cuisses and the Chest Plate, since they offer one empty gem slot and have high Physical Defence.

Total Physical Defence: 778

Total Ether Defence: 372

  • Gracielle Helm - The Gracielle Helm can be obtained by defeating Laeklit Mammut in Makna Forest and is also a reward for completing Vidian Rescue Mission. It offers 156 Physical Defence and 62 Ether Defence. It does not have a variation with an empty gem slot. However, there are not many heavy armour pieces that do come with gem slots.

  • Gracielle Chest - The Gracielle Chest can be obtained through defeating Exposure Wolfol and Wandering Amon, found on Valak Mountain. This chest plate offers 192 Physical Defence and 112 Ether Defence. This chest piece does have a variation with one empty gem slot.

  • Gracielle Arms - The Gracielle Arms can also be obtained from completing the Vidian Rescue Mission. It is dropped by Satorl Torta in Satorl Marsh, as well. It gives the wearer 110 Physical Defence and 62 Ether Defence. It does not have a variation with an empty gem slot. However, there are not many heavy armour pieces that do come with gem slots.

  • Gracielle Cuisses - The Gracielle Cuisses variation with an empty gem slot are only dropped by the Quest Exclusive enemies, Invited Slobos during the The Final Giants’ Ruin quest, and Demon King Dragonia during the Defend Colony 6 - Demon. They offer 170 Physical Defence and 74 Ether Defence.

  • Gracielle Greaves - The Gracielle Greaves are also a reward for completing Vidian Rescue Mission. They are also dropped by Bagrus Nebula in Makna Forest and Eternal Palsadia in Satorl Marsh. They have 152 points of Physical Defence and 62 points of Ether Defence. These greaves do not have a variation with an empty gem slot, though.

M100 Armour Set

This set is powerful because it has a high Physical Defence, the highest Ether Defence and each piece has an empty gem slot, which is not the case with the other sets in this list. The empty gem slots, arguably, make this the strongest heavy armour set available, however, you do not need to wear complete sets. You can mix and match with the stronger pieces in the other armour sets to create the perfect build for you.

Total Physical Defence: 780

Total Ether Defence: 444

  • M100 Helm - The variation with one empty gem slot can be obtained from Dorsiar Lizards in Tephra Cave. This helmet offers the wearer 158 Physical Defence and 72 Ether Defence.

  • M100 Plate - The M100 Plate with an empty gem slot is obtained from Sonicia Gogol and Erratic Goliante in Tephra Cave. It gives the wearer 188 Physical Defence and 136 Ether Defence.

  • M100 Arms - The M100 Arms can be obtained from Rhoen Quadwing and Protective Torquidon in Tephra Cave. It offers 108 Physical Defence and 74 Ether Defence. It also has a variation with one gem slot.

  • M100 Cuisses - The M100 Cuisses are dropped by Young Brog in Tephra Cave. They have 170 points of Physical Defence and 92 points of Ether Defence. They also have a variation with one empty gem slot.

  • M100 Greaves - Thw M100 Greaves with an empty gem slot are given as a reward for completing Best Boots. These boots offer 156 Physical Defence and 70 Ether Defence.

Ledios Armour Set

This set is the strongest by far in terms of Physical Defence, however, not all of the pieces in this set have an empty gem slot. The Torso, Arms and Legs pieces in this set are great because they have empty gem slots, so choosing those pieces along with a helmet and feet with gem slots from other sets would make for a really strong build.

Total Physical Defence: 922

Total Ether Defence: 405

  • Ledios Helm - This helm can be bought in Colony 6 when you have completed Commmerce up to Level 5 in the Reconstruction process. They are sold for 92,500G. They offer the wearer 180 Physical Defence and 80 Ether Defence. This helmet does not have an empty gem slot.

  • Ledios Plate - The Ledios Plate with one empty gem slot can only be obtained from quest exclusive enemy, Demon King Dragonia during Defend Colony 6 - Demon and Invited Slobos after completing The Final Giants’ Ruin. It offers 220 Physical Defence and 95 Ether Defence.

  • Ledios Arms - The variation with one empty gem slot can only be obtained from the Demon King Dragonia during the Defend Colony 6- Demon quest. It is not a guaranteed drop, however, so you may miss out on the arms. A way to prevent missing out on these arms is to reload a save prior to defeating the enemy if you did not receive the armour and defeat the dragon again. However, this can be quite tedious as it is a tough fight. You could, alternatively, use Riki’s Yoink to steal items from the Demon King, however, you must be over level 90 to steal his items and because there are so many potential drops for this enemy, you may have to spam this ability for a while before you actually obtain the arms. They are very strong though, since they have 145 Physical Defence and 75 Ether Defence, which means it has the highest Physical Defence of the top arm armour pieces in this list. The effort you might have to go to to obtain this piece of armour may outweigh the benefits, but this is purely down to player’s preference.

  • Ledios Cuisses - This armour piece can be obtained from Exposure Wolfol and Feltl Eks on Valak Mountain. They offer the wearer 205 Physical Defence and 85 Ether Defence. This particular piece in the armour set does come with an empty gem slot.

  • Ledios Greaves - These greaves can be bought from a shop in Colony 6 for 115,000G, once you have upgraded Commerce fully during the Reconstruction process. They offer 172 Physical Defence and 70 Ether Defence. They do not have an empty gem slot.
