Dunban is hailed as a hero, as he is one of the reasons why the Mechon assault was stopped in the past. However, as a result of wielding the Monado, Dunban lost the use of his right arm, but his duty to protect others doesn’t regret any of his actions. He is considered one of the more mature members of the party, always reminding others to stay focused on their task at hand, as well as being the voice of reason.

Battle

Dunban is the other tank of the group, but instead of taking hits like Reyn, he is designed to avoid them. This is because his Agility is probably the highest out of the entire group, which also means his accuracy when attacking is also high. Since he has high Agility, he makes a great character to have when fighting higher-leveled enemies. Combine this with one of his skill trees, that gives him a boost to aggro and Agility with no armour, Dunban is definitely a force to be reckoned with. However, one of the downsides to making him the tank is that he has relatively low HP, but not being hit can make this a moot point.

Dunban also has a number of Arts that either boost the party, himself, or link together to cause mayhem against the enemy. For example, he is one of the rare characters that can both Break and Topple an enemy from the moment you gain access to him as a party member. Some of his auras can be fantastic, such as Peerless, which increases the strength of the party and draws aggro. By far, his Talent Art can be one of the strongest in the game, since it hits four times. Use it at a times five chain in a Chain Attack to see the true damage it can do.
