Riki is a small forest creature called a Nopon, and makes his home in Frontier Village. He is very playful and calls himself the legendary “Heropon,” with him joining Shulk’s quest to destroy the Mechon. Despite his personality making him seem very young, Riki is actually quite old and a father of eleven children. He is a bit of a comic relief character, as his childish proclamations of being the Heropon lead him to say many heroic things in battle, even if he didn’t contribute much.

Battle

Riki is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades character, as he doesn’t really excel at anything majorly. Despite this, he can be a valuable ally to the party due to his Arts. First and foremost, he has the highest HP out of every single character in the game, making Riki quite sturdy in battle, should he pull aggro from someone else or you want to try and tank with him. He has a lot of damage-over-time debuffs, meaning he is more of a character that softens up enemies instead of doing a large amount of damage immediately.

Riki is also the only character in the game who can steal items (and some stats) from enemies, with his Talent Art, Yoink!. With some of the skills in his skill trees, you can make Yoink! steal even experience or AP. Happy Happy, which requires high tension, is a wonderful Art, as it increases the Party Gauge. His one aura buff, Hero Time, despite being a random stat increase, can increase one of his stats by a lot. One of Riki’s best arts, though, is Behave, as it applies Paralysis to the enemy, but it can also get rid of the Crazed aura that some enemies use at low health.

While Riki is a good party member to have, his physical Arts are not all that useful. Say Sorry does more damage depending on the number of debuffs, but it also removes all of them, so it might not be do the same amount of damage over time. He probably only really has two good Physical-based Arts, Bitey Bitey and Sneaky, but they are outclassed by other characters.
