In Monster Hunter Wilds you’ll get side quests from Dareel and his research partner, Samin. This is the second quest from Dareel who requires you to find the Endemic Life, Ember Rufflizard. Like most Endemic Life, this can be difficult to find if you don’t know where to look. Read on to find out how to begin the quest, and where you can find the Ember Rufflizard.

Quest Start¶

This quest is available after completing mission 4-1, New Ecosystems as well as the prerequisite quests, Dareel’s Research Report and Samin’s Research Report. As always, you’ll find Dareel in the research tent in the Windward Plains Base Camp. Speak to him to find out that he wants you to find the elusive Ember Rufflelizard.

Ember Rufflelizard Location¶

The best place to find the Ember Rufflelizard is to head to the Oilwell Basin, more specifically, the entrance to Area 2 if you come from Area 4 during Fallow. Here, you’ll find a couple of Ember Rufflelizards on the floor, near the wall. If the season is Firespring, make your way to the lava-filled Area 15, where you’ll find numerous lizards walking near the entrance to other areas. To make the season Firespring, go into your tent, select the BBQ menu, and then select Rest. Under Environment, choose Inclemency, and then rest.

Although these are what we consider to be the best locations, you can find them all over the basin, especially in the lower areas, but they can spawn in the upper areas. Once you’ve found the lizards, equip the Capture Net and scoop them up. Now, return to Dareel in the Windward Plains Base Camp, and turn in the quest.

Reward¶

Your reward for completing this side quest is the following: 10x Might Seed, 5x Honey, and 100 Guild Points. Also, this unlocks Samin’s second research quest.
