With time, weather, and seasons playing a huge part in Monster Hunter Wilds, with some quests requiring you to find specific Endemic Life during specific conditions, you may be wondering if you can turn day into night, Fallow into Plenty, or change the weather. Well, to answer your question, you can! Read on to find out how to change the time of day, what season the zone is in, and how to remove or change the inclemency.

Is the weather a bit wet for you? Why not change it then!

Skipping Time and Changing the Environment

This option is easily missed if you don’t check every option on everything you do. Go to a tent in any Base Camp, or Pop-up Tent in any location, and head over to the BBQ Menu, which is the 4th option along. At the bottom of this menu, you’ll find an option to “Rest”. Select Rest, and you’ll be met with two options, Environment and Time. Selecting Environment will give you three options, Fallow, Plenty, and Inclemency. These are the states that the areas will be in. A lot of quests have some Endemic Life only appear during Plenty, or Nighttime, etc.

(1 of 2) While in a tent, go to the fourth tab, BBQ Menu, and select Rest.

The second option, Time, does what it says on the tin. You can change the time between Morning, Daytime, Evening, and Nighttime. If you need to wait until dawn or dusk, you’ll have to select the nearest option, and wait a bit until it reaches that time of day. For example, the best time to capture the Gravid Bowfin for the Fishing for Flavor side quest is during dusk or dawn, meaning it’s best to search for it in the Morning, or Evening, not to be confused by Daytime or Nighttime.

(1 of 3) In Environment, you can change the state of the environment from Fallow to Plenty, or change the Inclemency.

Using this feature in conjunction with the Environment Overview access on the map, you can determine which monster will spawn at a specific time and season, and then change the time and environment to match that of the monster you’re farming, saving you a lot of time. Note that using this feature will cost you 300 Guild Points each time you use it. That’s it for this short tutorial. It may seem like something trivial, but we played 70 hours before realizing this was a feature. Yes, we did wait in the sweltering desert for an hour of real time for the in-game time to pass naturally. Fortunately, you won’t have to make the same mistake.
