There are numerous side quests in Monster Hunter Wilds, some of which will upgrade your Palico with a new skill. A Gutsy Move is a late-game side quest that will unlock the Vigorwasp Revival support move. Read on to find out where and when you can begin the quest, and how to complete it.
Speak to your Palico in Scarlet Forest Base Camp after completing the prerequisites to start the quest.
Quest Start¶
In order to begin this quest, you’ll need to have completed all the previous Palico side quests: Healing Help, Flash Course, Rath-from-Above, Go!, and Purrfect Plundering. The other requirement is that you must complete story mission 5-2. Once you’ve done all that, head to the Scarlet Forest Base Camp, and speak to the Palico, who should be near your tent.
Finding The Giant Vigorwasp¶
After speaking with your Palico, you’ll be tasked with obtaining a Giant Vigorwasp with your Capture Net. These can be found in any zone, but the zone must be in the season of Plenty, otherwise, you’ll only find the regular Vigorwasps. The easiest way to obtain the Giant Vigorwasp is to head to the oasis in Windward Plains (area 13) during the season of Plenty as that place is filled with Vigorwasps. The oasis has a pop-up tent spot, but odds are, it’ll get destroyed as it’s in a dangerous location.

However, there is another pop-up tent location to the west of it aptly called Area 13: West. From there, head east across the desert to find the Oasis. Once you’ve located the Giant Vigorwasp, equip your Capture Net and scoop it up, and then return to one of the Base Camps, and speak to your Palico to complete the quest.
Your Palico will use the Giant Vigorwasp to revive you should you get knocked out.
Rewards¶
The main reward for this quest is the Vigorwasp Revival skill for your Palico, and what this does is if you get knocked out, your Palico will automatically revive you. Keep in mind that this can only be used once per hunt. Apart from the new move, you’ll also obtain three Ancient Potions, five Max Potions, and 100 Guild Points. This will be the last move your Palico will learn, thus completing all the Palico side quests.
