Lords of the Fallen (2023)

Drustan Locations & Quest Guide - Lords of the Fallen

By
Craig Robinson

Drustan is one of those friendly faces you find in the overwhelming hostility of the lands of Mournstead. This happy, go-lucky chappy with his thick northern accent is very happy to see you on many occasions, with a humble goal of reuniting with his knightly brother. If you’re interested in finding this fella and aiding him on his quest, then our Drustan walkthrough in Lords of the Fallen shall assist you with finding his locations.

Drustan’s Locations & Quest Progression in LOTF

(1 of 3) To start the Drustan quest in Lords of the Fallen, enter the Fitzroy Gorge cave and look for Drustan on the right tunnel when you approach the scaffolding area.

Drustan is an NPC you can very easily miss in Lords of the Fallen, simply because he hides in slightly off-the-beaten paths in all three of the locations he resides in. You will need to help him every single time, otherwise, you will fail the questline. To find his locations, in the right order, you need to find Drustna’s locations in the following spots:

  1. Fitzroy Gorge Cave: Enter the large cave system in the early phase of Fitzroy’s Gorge. You will need to move through the mountain pass and mountains side road to reach this location, which is a fairly linear path straight from the Forsaken Fen. Head up from the vestige in Forsaken Fen, and then travel on the right path to ensure you’re on track. You should eventually reach a cave you need to enter by moving through the "Umbral Lamp" iconUmbral Lamp barriers. When you enter the cave, you’ll find a chasm you must cross by entering the Umbral. When you’re through the gao, you should find a large area in the cave with scaffolding, guarded by a few Ravager-themed enemies, with hounds and hell dog-type creatures knocking around. The scaffolding area will have a tunnel to the right, where you will find Drustan’s first location. Simply speak to him and learn of his quest.

  2. Calrath City Slums: Once you’re through the remaining part of Firzroy’s Gorge, you will work your way through Calrath City. There are two vestiges in Calrath, one near the entrance to Calrath, and another halfway through the city at the start of the Slums. When you reach the Slums Vestige point, aka the Tavern named one, look for the balcony to the side of the vestige You will find Drustan’s location sitting by the balcony overlooking the burning remains of the city. He will request three Unripe berries from you to get his energy back. Assisting him will allow him to continue his journey, You will likely have a few berries on your from killing enemies, and looting places. But, if you don’t, you can find some from some of the Skyrest traders.

  3. Fief of Winter’s Chill Curse: The next location for Drustan in Lords of the Fallen is beside a small farmer’s house in the Fief region. You access this after clearing Calrath City and defeating the fire giant boss. When you return to Skyrest, you get a notification saying you can head to the Fief from the Windmill Vestige in Abandoned Redcopse Village. Go through the locked door by the vestige, and enter the Fief after defeating the Viking warrior mini-boss. From there, progress through the zone by lifting the fort’s gate with the Fief vestige, and then move down the road towards a house by the frozen pathway. From there, you will find a cave on the side of the mountain, and you can move your way through it. When you reach the other side of the cave, keep walking through the snowy field, and you will reach a small cottage accessible via the Umbral. Head through, and you shall see Drustan lying in the snow inside the property, and you can light a fire for him to keep him warm. The small campfire is near where he is lying down.

With all three Drustan locations found in Lords of the Fallen, you can now put Drustan to the back of your mind, as the lad won’t appear for a long while off. His next appearance comes in Calrath City as he gets ever closer to finding his brother. Be warned the next part of the guide contains spoilers, as it concludes the storyline of Drustan. So, reveal the next section of information at your own risk.

In addition, note that you will need to find all of his locations to get yourself Gestures. Gestures are part of the trophy guide for the game, and Drustan offers a few for each area you visit. You can find more information on the trophy here.

(1 of 2) When you are at the umbral blocker in the Bramis Castle grounds, you will find a memory in this circular ruin, revealing the fate of our good friend Drustan.

When you are at the umbral blocker in the Bramis Castle grounds, you will find a memory in this circular ruin, revealing the fate of our good friend Drustan. (left), If you complete the quest correctly, you shall get his full armor and arsenal, along with his brother’s ring. (right)

When you reach Calrath City, you will begin navigating through the entrance to the castle grounds, guard house, and garden area. The garden area has a river of flowing lava through it, and you must navigate the path you’re on and then turn right at the end. This takes you to another area with lava, and a destroyed part of the structure that allows you to bridge over the river. However, you must enter the Umbral and solve some blockers to make it. Pull down a surface to make a bridge over the lava, and you shall enter a small circular ruin area. You will have two sources of loot. However, one of them is a mimic moth creature. There’s also a memory next to the mimic item. Soul Flaying reveals that our good pal Drustan got absolutely rekt by the moth man (no, not the cryptid) and sadly dies where you stand. You will find the remains of Drustan’s armor, shield, and weapon in the loot source, along with a ring called Melchior’s Ring, the name of his brother.

As you make your way towards the game’s final moments, you will find the truth about what happened to Melchior, and complete Drustan’s journey for them. Defeat the Shattered King boss, move up the throne room, and you shall find a memory of Melchior, who was used by the mad king and the Adyr demons to become the Effigy of Adyr. Revealing this memory will award you with a trophy called Hero Worship.

It is currently unclear if that memory persists, as we completed this questline during the Radiance ending of the game. If you don’t already know, the story has a few slight tweaks and differences depending on if you get to this point coursing through the Inferno or Radiance ending. So, there’s still room for clarification on whether you can complete this side quest in the Inferno playthrough, too.

Defeating the final beacon boss, and moving up the throne room will reveal the final memory of what happened to Drustan and Melchior, and complete the storyline.

With that said, you now know the locations of Drustan to partake in his side quest in Lords of the Fallen, and, if you revealed the spoiler information, you now know the ending and how to complete the Drustan ending and grab the associated trophy.
