Some NPCs in Lords of the Fallen have ongoing questlines that span the entire game and Exacter Dunmire is one of them. Throughout the game, he’ll ask you to get specific items and bring them back to him. He’s up to something, but what? One of the items he’ll require is called the “
Book of Sin”. Read below to find out where to find the Book of Sin.
Exacter Dunmire will ask you to bring him a selection of items. One of these is the Book of Sin.
How to Find the Book of Sin¶
Before you can get the Book of Sin, you’ll need access to Pilgrim’s Perch which can be accessed by leaving Skyrest via the ramp to the right of the Vestige. When you reach Pilgrim’s Perch, climb the ladder, and drop to the area below when you reach the end of the path. Make your way down the area until you reach an open area with many enemies where you’ll find some stairs leading through a large archway. Head up the stairs, activate the Vestige to the right, and climb the following ladders on the left.
Go through the corridor, across the beam, and down to the bottom. In the next area, you’ll have a boss fight with Scourged Sister Delyth. After you’ve defeated her, go through the door at the other end of the room which will lead outside briefly. Climb the ladder, and head through the tunnel with the 
Pilgrim’s Perch Key door.

Outside, follow the path and run past the Spiky Smasher enemy and then climb the ladder at the end. Switch to the Umbral Realm, stand on the platform, and lock on to the blue body on the opposite platform. Perform a Soul Flay on it to pull yourself across and proceed until you find the next ladder that leads up. If you take the ladder leading down, you can kick down a plank for a shortcut.
Anyway, at the top of the ladder, progress forward towards the next ladder, defeat another Spiky Smasher then exit the Umbral Realm via the Emergence Effigy at the base of the ladder. Now, climb the ladder then run and jump across the hanging platforms to the other side and climb the next two ladders that follow. Follow the path, and jump onto the platform in front where another Spiky Smasher awaits you. Either defeat it (and the mage behind) or switch to Umbral and run across the new bridge that has formed.
Follow the linear path, and Soul Flay the platforms to get across. When you reach the other side, head up the ramp which will lead you to some beams and planks. Head across the beams, pick up the sword on the palm of the hand, and head over to the other platform. Here, you’ll have a doorway to your left with a Vestige inside. Unfortunately, there is a parasite-protected Spiky Smasher blocking your way. Bait him onto the platform, run inside, activate the Vestige, and rest to reset the enemies.

Everything here is locked for now unless you have a Pilgrim’s Perch Key, but for now, run past the Vestige while defeating the enemies along the way. Eventually, this path will lead outside again to a platform with three mages (one in front, two hidden to your sides). Defeat the mages and jump across the platform to the other side where another mage can be found. Follow the narrow walkway to the end while avoiding the Spiky Smasher and take the ladder down.
Once again, switch to the Umbral Realm, take the nearby ladder down, and Soul Flay the body in the center for the important item: 
Bowl of Revelations (allows you to purchase boss weapons) then climb up the ladder on the opposite side. Follow the path there around the post, and walk along the beam to an Emergence Effigy on the small platform where a mage can be found. Defeat the mage, exit the Umbral Realm, and drop off to the left to kick the plank for a shortcut.
Now, run in the opposite direction and defeat the mages at the end of the path. Before heading down the ladder, look down to spot three mages (two on the platform to your left, one in the center). There will also be two Spiky Smashers, yes, two. Drop onto the platform with the two mages and perform a plunging attack (attack as you land) to take them out. Then use this platform to cheese the other enemies. The mage in the middle has a parasite, so fire at it with a ranged weapon, and it should come closer where you’ll be able to siphon away the parasite.

With the parasite gone, take out the mage, and climb down the ladder (don’t jump). As soon as you come off the ladder, the Spiky Smashers will ambush you with them coming from both directions. Quickly climb back up the ladder and take them out from here with magic or ranged attacks. If you don’t have either, then you’ll need to fight them properly or try to bait them off the platform.
Whatever way you choose to do it, when the enemies are dead, enter the Umbral Realm, and you’ll find a door blocked by an Umbral Occurrence. For you to open the door, you’ll need to Soul Flay two blue bodies (corpses?) which can be found nearby. The first is above the occurrence, to the right and the second can be found on the hut to the left after going across the beam. Now, that’s the way to go to continue on with Pilgrim’s where you’ll eventually unlock a shortcut, but for the Book of Sin, you need to go down the ramp on the same platform, defeat the remnants, then Soul Flay the body in the middle to get the item. When you have it, return to Dunmire, and give him the book. Note that he won’t give you anything right now, but it will progress his quest line.
