In Lords of the Fallen you cast three types of magic which are Radiance, Inferno, and Umbral, but to do this, you’ll need a Catalyst. At the start of the game, you won’t have access to one unless you pick one of the starting classes that come equipped with a Catalyst such as the Orian Preacher (Radiance), Pyric Cultist (Inferno), and the Putrid Child (Secret Umbral Class). Whether you’re looking for a Radiant Catalyst to start your journey with, or you’re looking for the best Radiance Catalyst to upgrade, read here.
The Orian Preacher starting class comes equipped with a Radiant Catalyst. If you don’t select this at the beginning, you’ll need to wait a while before getting one.
Where to Find Radiant Catalysts¶
The first Radiant Catalyst you can find is by purchasing it from Exacter Dunmire who can be found at the Skyrest Hub which you’ll access after defeating a boss on the bridge outside of it. Exacter Dunmire can be found just in front of the Vestige in Skyrest the first time you reach the place, then he’ll move down the ramp to the left of the Vestige (if you’re looking at it) after speaking to him.

Here is a list of every Radiant Catalyst you can find in the game:

Best Radiant Catalyst in Lords of the Fallen¶
Out of the six Radiant Catalysts available, some of them will be better if you ignore the scaling. Radiant Purifier Catalyst and
Agony’s Light have a huge 380 Spell Power at +10, but their scaling doesn’t go past C+. Meanwhile,
Wilmarc’s Catalyst and
Abbess Chalice have a modest 212/226 Spell Power, and can scale up to A/A-. Then you have the beginning
Orian Preacher Catalyst which has a Spell Power of 240 at +10, and can also reach an A-. Finally, you have the
Exacter Scripture which has 192 Spell Power at +10, but it’s the only one that can reach S rank.
So, if you’re only using Radiance magic on the side, or you want the best Radiant Catalyst without the need to upgrade it. The Agony’s Light or Radiant Purifier Catalyst is your best bet. However, if you’re a pure caster, or you will heavily invest in the Radiance stat, then any of Wilmarc’s Catalyst, Abbess Chalice, and Orian Preacher Catalyst will be better. Finally, if you’re taking Radiance really high (think 40/50), then the Exacter Scripture comes out on top.
Radiant Catalyst Upgrade Cost¶
To reach the maximum scaling of a Catalyst, you’ll need to upgrade it to +10. With each upgrade, the scaling will increase, and the Spell Power will marginally go up. Every Catalyst will cost the same amount of materials which are as follows:
-
+1: Small
Deralium Fragment x2
- +2: Small Deralium Fragment x4
-
+3: Regular
Deralium Nuggets x1
- +4: Regular Deralium Nuggets x2
- +5: Regular Deralium Nuggets x4
-
+6: Large
Deralium Shards x2
- +7: Large Deralium Shards x4
- +8: Large Deralium Shards x6
- +9: Large Deralium Shards x8
-
+10:
Deralium Chunk x1
