Lords of the Fallen (2023)

Item Discovery Explained - Lords of the Fallen

By
Shane Williams

There are a variety of stats in Lords of the Fallen and some will improve your overall damage output and others will improve the item drop rate from enemies, so if you’re farming for a specific weapon for a build, then you may want to work towards trying to increase the Item Discovery Stat. Read below for tips on how to do so!

You can see your item Discovery score via the character tab.

What is Item Discovery in Lords of the Fallen

You’ll come across a lot of enemies and bosses in Lords of the Fallen and some will drop really useful items and equipment, so you may want to farm them to obtain it. Unfortunately, from the start of the game, the item drop rate percentage starts very low which means you’ll probably have to spend a long time farming until you get the item you really want. However, there are ways to increase your item discovery, such as equipping runes to equipment, consuming items, or performing Umbral Finishers.

Add Runes to Equipment

There are a variety of runes scattered around the world and some increase item discovery rate, such as the "Nhelaq" iconNhelaq which can be obtained via a drop from the Ravenous Fascinator. However, you’ll need to obtain the "Cracked Rune Tablet" iconCracked Rune Tablet from Fitzroy’s Gorge so you won’t be able to do this until you’ve progressed a fair bit into the game.

Consume Items

There are lots of items to find throughout the game and they all offer unique effects. If you want to improve your Item Discovery, then there are two you want to look out for, such as "Charmed Paw" iconCharmed Paw and "Lucky Paw" iconLucky Paw. Charmed Paws can be dropped by Ravenous Fascinators and Lucky Paws can be dropped by Ardent Penitent or you can purchase them from Thehk-Ihir.

Perform Umbral Finishers

There is one more method you can use to increase item drop rate, such as performing Umbral Finishers. To do this you’ll need to stagger the enemy, then press RB Xbox-BumperRight when you see a red circle. Doing this will kill the enemy and increase the chance of them dropping an item, but we suggest you only use this method until you get the runes or items later in the game.
