This page will provide leveling tips and recommendations to maximize efficiency while leveling from 70 to 80 with the new Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker classes Reaper and Sage. However, please note these tips will also be useful for any player looking to level from 70 - 80 with any class.
Best Leveling Method FFXIV¶
Gear¶
For Reaper we recommend unlocking the full Augmented Scavean Maiming set which is item level 400.
For Sage we recommend unlocking the full Augmented Scavean Healing set which is item level 400.
These sets can be obtained by talking to Enna in Rhalgars Reach. If you don’t have enough Tomestones for these sets don’t worry. You will receive item level 385 sets upon completion of the Sage and Reaper introduction quests which are almost as good!
EXP Buffs¶
- Rest Exp (A buffer of +50% xp that you gain while being in a sanctuary.)
- Menphinas Earrings (30% experience buff below level 80)
- Squadron Battle Manual (15% experience buff) or a Free Company Heat of Battle.
- Food (3% experience buff)
Best Way To Level from 70 to 71¶
Pixie Tribes¶
Pixie Tribe Quests in Il Mheg (X:12.4 Y:32.9) are very quick and provide approximately 1/3 of a level for competing three and take only a few minutes to complete.
Main Story Quest Roulettes¶
Main Story Quest Roulettes are excellent ways to earn experience and quickly level in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker.
Castrum and Praetorium are both excellent for experience but Praetorium is preferred as it offers much more experience!
Fate Grinding¶
You can also perform Fates which grant good experience. Il Mheg and Lakeland are ideal fate grinding locations for players around level 70. Fates are worth approximately 97k experience after the rebalancing. To get to 71 you will need 2,923,000 exp.

Best Way To Level From 71 to 80 in Zadnor¶
Like the Bozjan Southern Front, Zadnor is an instanced encounter wherein players assist the Bozjan Resistance. Completing Fates and Critical Engagements as part of a large group is an excellent way to earn tremendous experience in a relatively short amount of time. From our own experience it should take around 6 to 10 hours to level from 71 to 80 in Zadnor depending on the speed/efficiency of the group.
How To Unlock Zadnor¶
After reaching Level 71 players can travel to Zadnor. To get to Zadnor you must first travel to the Doman Enclave and then use the Aetheryte Crystal to travel to Gangos and then talk to Sjeros.
Complete Fates in The Northern Plateau¶
The general concept is to move in a triangle pattern around the Northern Plateau completing fates as they spawn.

After reaching 80 be sure to check out the Job Quests for Reaper and Sage. The starting Job quests can be done at 70 but the latter ones will require higher levels.
