Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Sector 7 Slums

By
Ben Chard
&
Nathan Garvin

Overview

You’ll first visit the Sector 7 Slums in Chapter 3, and while you’ll revisit this area in Chapter 4, Chapter 12 and Chapter 13, although most of the noteworthy content occurs in Chapter 3.

Locations

  • Train Graveyard Entrance: Minor area, connects to the Sectory 7 Undercity Station area. You’ll only use this to transition back to the Sector 7 Slums after Chapter 12.

  • Sectory 7 Undercity Station: Connects to the Pillar Plaza area. You’ll exit the train here at the start of Chapter 3, and you’ll catch another train here at the end of Chapter 4 to transition to Chapter 5. In the clearing to the west you’ll find an item shop which sells an uninspired collection of consumables as well as the 4. Barret’s Theme Music Disc. At the start of Chapter 12 you’ll fight the Enigmatic Spectre and Mysterious Spectres here.

  • Pillar Plaza: Connects to the Gate (south), Pillar (northeast), Abandoned Factory (northwest) and Residental Area (west), the the Gate being a minor area with little gameplay significant and the Pillar not being accessible until Chapter 12.

  • Pillar: Where the majority of Chapter 12 takes place. The enemies fought on the Pillar in Chapter 12 are not recorded here, as you do not have the freedom to explore the Sector 7 Slums.

  • Abandoned Factory: Unlocked during the quest Nuisance in the Factory, you’ll need to travel here again during the follow-up quest Just Flew In from the Graveyard.

  • Residential Area: The main area of Sector 7, it’s here you’ll find most of the interesting NPCs (including the quest-giver Wymer and Chadley, who will give you Battle Intel Reports) shops (including two item shops and a weapon/armor shop) and unique locations like Seventh Heaven (where you can participate in the Darts minigame). You’ll also visit this area in Chapter 12 and Chapter 13, but in the former case there’s no fighting, questing or looting to be done, and in the latter case you’re just passing through on your way to another area.

  • Scrap Boulevard: Along with the Abandoned Factory, Scrap Boulevard is one of the few areas in the Sector 7 Slums that hosts respawning enemies, in this case Gorgers and Wererats. You’ll need to come here with Tifa to clear out some enemies, after which you can come and go as you please, and it’s one of the best early-game grinding spots… just a shame you have relatively little materia worth leveling up by Chapter 3. You’ll also need to come here during the quest On the Prowl.
