This is a rather odd ability for Barret’s final weapon as it’s more appropriate for his melee weapons. You’ll need to be close to the enemy and there’s a long wind-up as Barret grabs the enemy and blasts them back before a bomb detonates shortly after. It’s an average ability that should see little use when your ATB is best used for Maximum Fury, Steelskin or Lifesaver.
This is an excellent weapon and a welcome one after the previous two being melee focused. This is tied with the Light Machine Gun as Barret’s best weapon and the Reprieve ability is the extra cherry on top, boosting his tanking ability. What’s more, there’s some nice Magic Attack Power upgrades and both Overcharge and Critical Boosts are welcome to further increase his damage output.
When spending your SP on the EKG Cannon be sure to pick up any Critical Hit based skills along with Overcharge once it’s available. Once you reach Weapon Level 6, make Reprieve your first purchase before looking into more situational ones such as Bloodsucker.
In the sprawling city of Midgar, an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche have stepped up their resistance. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to the group, unaware of the epic consequences that await him.
