Animal Crossing: New Horizons

What can you build on Harv's Island?

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on how to build shops on Harv’s Island. This upgrade to Harv’s Island became available with Version 2.0 of the game, released on the 4th of November, 2021.

For more information on other content included in Version 2.0, head over to our page on What’s New in the ACNH Version 2.0 Update.

Harv wants to build a plaza of shops on his island.

What’s New on Harv’s Island?

When you first boot up your game following the Version 2.0 update, you’ll receive a letter from Harv asking you to go and visit him on your island. If you remember, Harv’s Island was usually reserved for using his Photopia, which is essentially a photography studio in which you can build up photo sets and then place your villagers in them and take nice photos. In all honesty, Harv’s Island did not serve much purpose if you didn’t enjoy set dressing or taking photos of your villagers.

You’ve been summoned to Harv’s Island!

However, with the Version 2.0 update, when you next visit Harv’s Island, which you can do by heading to the airport and choosing the option to fly to Harv’s Island, you’ll be greeted by a huge open space behind his house. He has decided to start a Collective on his island, meaning he is looking to open a series of stalls in the cleared out field.

Helping with the Collective endeavour is Harriet the poodle, who longtime fans of the franchise will recognise as owning hair salons in the previous games. She will be offering up new haircuts and styles whenever you visit! For more information on Harriet, head over to our guide on what Harriet does on Harv’s island.

Harv’s Island Shops

Even though Harv has this grand plan to build a plaza of shops on his island, he still needs help with actually building it. There are 7 shops to build and they each cost 100,000 Bells to construct and you can donate as much or as little as you like. Every day, a reasonable amount is donated (about 680 bells) to each Lloid.

There are several Lloids on the island to which you can donate.

Those of you who have millions of bells saved up will be mildly disappointed to hear that you cannot build all the shops in one go, because once a shop has reached its donation goal, all other Lloids stop accepting donations. This means it’ll take a little under a week to complete Harv’s Island Collective (if you’re not time travelling).

Below, you’ll find a complete list of all shops that can be built on Harv’s Island, as well as their location in the field. For more detailed information on exactly what each merchant is selling/offering, click on their names below.
