Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The Roost Café

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

This page offers a guide on what to do at Brewster’s Café, The Roost. Brewster and his Café are available with Version 2.0 of the game, released on the 4th of November, 2021.

For more information on other content included in Version 2.0, head over to our page on What’s New in the ACNH Version 2.0 Update.

The Roost is open 24/7, meaning you can grab a coffee at any hour of the day!

How to Unlock Brewster’s Café

To unlock Brewster, you’ll first need to find him. To do so, you’ll need to first speak to Blathers at the Museum and then go on the hunt for him via Kapp’n’s boat tours. Kapp’n’s Boat Tours cost 1,000 Nook Miles, which is actually cheaper than a Nook Miles Ticket! For more information, head over to our guide on how to unlock Brewster and his café. Once you’ve found him, return to Blathers and he’ll begin on the remodelling of the museum!

Speak to Blathers and he’ll reveal his plans to open a Café!

What to Do at Brewster’s Café

After you’ve successfully found Brewster and the museum extension has been built (it takes two days from the day you find Brewster), you’ll finally be able to reap the rewards! Head over to the Café, which is found up the stairs and to the left, in the foyer of the Museum. You’ll also be excited to discover that the Café is open 24/7, so you can pop in for a cup of joe whenever your heart desires.

Coffee is 200 Bells per cup.

Upon entering, you’ll see that there are two low tables and chairs, and a bar with some stools. To order a coffee, hop up onto the bar stool and speak to Brewster. It costs 200 Bells to buy a coffee. Brewster is not much of a talker, but as you become a regular, you’ll begin to get more personal dialogue - a bit like Sable at the Able Sister’s! In previous games, he used to offer special blends of coffee and even greet you as you enter the Café, asking if you want your “usual”. Be sure to come in at least once every day for a coffee to build up a friendship with Brewster!

If you try to sit on the low table and chairs, he’ll tell you that they are reserved. Occasionally other Island Residents may stop by for a coffee and they’ll sometimes sit at these tables.

Daisy Mae will pop over for a grilled cheese after selling her turnips!

How to Use Amiibos in Brewster’s Café

You can also invite other Animal Crossing characters to the Café by using Amiibos! On the back wall, you’ll find a yellow phone which can be used to bring in an Amiibo character. They’ll sit at the tables and have a coffee too!

Amiibos can be used to invite Animal Crossing characters to the Roost!
