Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Buying Turnips

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

Description

Every sunday morning, from 5am till 12pm, Daisy Mae visits your island to sell turnips!

Buying Turnips

Each week, Daisy Mae’s turnips will be selling for a different price, she will typically sell them for between 90 and 110 bells. The lower the price the better, as it’ll make it a lot easier to turn a profit if they were bought for less. You also have to buy in bundles of 10, so make sure you have at least 10 times the asking price on hand. For example, if your asking price is 105 bells then you need to bring 1,050 Bells for one stack of 10 turnips. Lots of players will invest hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions, of bells into the Stalk Market as you can make a huge profit.

Daisy Mae will sell turnips on your island every sunday morning.

The Stalk Market

The reason why you want to invest into turnips is because you can sell them to Timmy and Tommy in Nook’s Cranny for a profit. You can sell turnips to Nook’s Cranny everyday except sundays. The turnip prices will change everyday, and the morning and afternoon prices differ too! This means you should be checking your shop’s turnip prices twice a day to make sure you get the best price.

This is the best way to make lots of bells in Animal Crossing, as Timmy and Tommy will sometimes offer up to 600 bells for a turnip, meaning you could potentially make up to 6 times the money you invested into the turnips you bought from Daisy Mae. That being said, 600 bells is a very rare asking price, and your turnip prices are more likely to peak between 200 and 300 bells. Unfortunately, you could also be unlucky with your turnip prices, as on some days they can go incredibly low.

You can’t sell turnips on Sundays.

Turnip Communities

The best way to make sure you don’t lose out on bells is to join Animal Crossing Turnip communities or forums. Everyday people will advertise their island’s high turnip prices, and you can go to other player’s islands to sell your turnips. Be wary though, some people will try to charge you lots of money for going to their island. Entry fees onto islands are largely banned in Turnip communities because some people would ask set ridiculously high fees. Whilst it is advised that you avoid entry fees, you should always tip whenever you can. Players who open their islands to random strangers dedicate lots of their day to allowing people to visit their island. They also risk people stealing their fruit, trampling their flowers and being disrespectful to their island. You should always try to tip a portion of your turnip earnings or NMTs as thanks for the host’s hospitality.
