Description¶
This page offers information on how to relocate island buildings, as well as how to demolish infrastructures like bridges and inclines.
Relocating¶
You can relocate any building you want, except for Resident Services and the airport! This means you can move villagers’ homes, the campsite, the shops and the museum. To begin the conversation about relocating, you’ll need to talk to Nook at his construction counter and pick the option Let’s talk about infrastructure, then choose the option to talk about layout changes. It will set you back 50,000 Bells to relocate a building and once you’ve given over the fee, you’ll be handed a kit to relocate the chosen building. You can then choose a spot for it like you’ve done in the past with picking locations for shops and homes. By the following day, the building will be in its new location.
To move your home, you’ll need to choose the option About my home… when speaking to Nook at the construction counter. It will only cost you 30,000 Bells to move your house, so it’s cheaper than moving a villager’s house or the shops.
Demolishing¶
If you have decided that you no longer like the location of a bridge or an incline, or you’ve reached your infrastructure limit of 8 bridges/inclines, you can choose to demolish them. It’ll cost you 10,000 Bells to demolish a bridge or incline so be sure you want to do it, otherwise you will have wasted a lot of money building the bridge for nothing. To do so, speak to Nook about infrastructure then pick the bridges/inclines option and request a demolition. He will then show you a map of your island and tell you to pick a bridge/incline to demolish. It will take one day to demolish the bridge/incline and during this time you won’t be able to build any new ones.
