A Tourist is at Your Campsite¶
The day after you’ve built your campsite, you should have a visitor staying there! This will be announced on the island-wide broadcast by Isabelle.
When you go visit them, you’ll notice that there is also a tent pitched up on the site. Upon entering the tent, you’ll be greeted by a random villager.
Inviting Them to Live on Your Island¶
For the sake of progression, you should invite this villager to live on your island (no matter how ugly they are!). Tourists will only come a couple of times a week, so if you decide to not have this villager move in, you’ll have to wait a while for the next one to come along. Inviting the first campsite visitor is important because it allows you to then begin buying more land plots for future island residents!
Once you ask them to move in, you’ll have to speak to Nook about arranging a plot for them. Head over to Resident Services, speak to Nook and he will give you a housing kit. Once again, you can choose where to plot your new villager’s home.
After you’ve chosen a plot, head back to Nook and tell him the news. Tom Nook will also mention that you will now be able to buy plots of land to reserve them for future houses. This will cost you 10,000 Bells each plot of land. Then, return to the campsite and let your new villager know about his new house on your island! They will move into their new home the next day.
