Critterpedia Achievements

Description

This page offers information on all of the Nook Miles achievements relating to the critterpedia.

Angling for Perfection

These achievements rely on you doing lots of fishing! It doesn’t matter what fish you catch, as these achievements are based on the number of fish you catch. Fish will spawn regularly in ponds, rivers and the sea. If you don’t want to rely on the fish naturally spawning, you can use fish bait made from manilla clams found buried in the beaches. When you’ve crafted the fish bait you can then choose to throw it into a body of water and it will spawn a random fish.

Task Nook Miles Earned Unlocked Titles
Catch 10 fish 300 Accomplished Lad/Lass
Catch 100 fish 500 Competant Fishing Fan
Catch 500 fish 1,000 Moderate Beach Bum
Catch 2,000 fish 2,000 Fierce Fisher
Catch 5,000 fish 3,000 Battle-Tested Catch of the Day

Island Ichthyologist

These achievements are reliant on the player finding new fish species. The best way to find new fish is to make sure you know the type of fish that are present during that month. For rarer fish, you should be aware of their specific spawn locations (i.e. the pier or estuary) and the time of day that they would spawn. A useful tip for fishing for rarer fish would be to use lots of fish bait to try to force that specific species to spawn.

You’ve Got the Bug

These achievements require that you catch lots of bugs. Bugs will spawn on trees, near flowers, on the ground, on tree stumps, on the water’s surface, and inside trees. You cannot attract bugs like you can fish, but growing lots of flowers does help to spawn butterflies and certain bugs.

Bugs Don’t Bug Me

These achievements are reliant on the player finding new insect species. The best way to find new bugs is to make sure you know the type of insect that are present during that month. For rarer bugs, you should be aware of their specific spawn locations and the time of day that they would spawn.

Underwater Understudy

These achievements asks that you find lots of different unique sea creatures. Like the fish and insects, different sea creatures will spawn during different times of the day and different times of the year. Harder to catch sea creatures will spawn less, but they will also move very fast under the water when you try to dive for them. Luckily, they don’t despawn when you fail to catch them, so you can swim and chase them around until you finally catch them. You can’t swim underwater for long, so you want to swim above water and then dive at the last moment to catch the speedy ones.

Task Nook Miles Earned Unlocked Titles

Some sea creatures move fast, whilst others won’t move much at all when you dive for them.

Flea Flicker

Fleas can be found on the bodies of villagers. If you hear a strange noise and see a small black bug jumping off the villager’s body, then you can whip out your net and use it to relieve the villager of their flea-issue.

Task Nook Miles Earned Unlocked Titles
Find a Cicada Shell 1,000 Shell-less Being

Netting Better!

To earn this achievement, you need to be a master of catching wasps. Wasps are hidden in trees and the wasp nest will only drop out of the tree if you shake it or hit it with an axe. If you want to unlock this achievement, the best way to do so would be to shake the trees on your island with a net in hand. That way, you’ll be prepared to catch the wasps that fly out of the nest.

Task Nook Miles Earned Unlocked Titles
Catch 5 wasps in a row without getting stung 1,000 Accurate Deadeye

Catching 5 wasps in a row is some impressive work!

Taking the Sting Out

This achievement is only unlocked when you are stung by two wasps and faint as a result. This will only happen if you have not taken medicine between the two incidents. When you faint, you will awake at your home.

Task Nook Miles Earned Unlocked Titles
Get stung by wasps twice, causing you to faint 300 Teary-eyed Crybaby

Faint of Heart

Tarantulas and scorpions will attack you if you get to close to them. You can catch them before they sting you, but to unlock this achievement, you’ll need to be stung at least once by either a tarantula or a scorpion.

Task Nook Miles Earned Unlocked Titles
Get attacked by a tarantula or scorpion 300 Risen Phoenix

Cast Master

These achievements require that you become the master of fishing! You must catch a certain amount of fish in a row, without failing. If a fish gets away or you reel in too fast, you will lose your counter and have to begin again.

Trash Fishin’

Occasionally, when fishing, you’ll catch some trash instead of a fish! Whilst this might be a bit annoying, you are cleaning up the ocean! Plus, every so often you’ll unlock a new DIY that recycles trash.

Task Nook Miles Earned Unlocked Titles
