Fought the normal Captain Ginyu | 238,963 EXP, D Medal (x2), Improved Scouter (x1), Captain Ginyu’s Soul Emblem |
You need to be playing as Vegeta in order to begin this substory, which is available in the Southeast Islands Area. Vegeta is looking for a new training partner, with Bulma suggesting that you might try for Captain Ginyu. However, he is still a frog after the encounter on Namek, so Vegeta thinks about using the Dragon Balls to return him to his original form. Thus, your first goal will be to gather all seven Dragon Balls and make the wish to return Ginyu to his normal form. If you are in the dormant period for the Dragon Balls, then you have to wait until they become active again. Once you have all seven, make the wish via the menu and a new marker will pop up in the West Area. Speak to him to begin a battle.
Captain Ginyu is a relatively simple fight, as he’s not entirely super aggressive and only really has two Super Attacks. Milky Cannon is nothing more than a quick Ki blast, making it fairly easy to dodge. The other attack he has is called Cross Chop, which is a melee one. Ginyu will perform two quick swipes, then the third hit will be an X-shaped one. Note that he will always perform the full combo, so you will need to dodge all three hits; the final one sends you downwards. Overall, though, Ginyu isn’t really that difficult and considering you have a lot more powerful attacks now, he should go down fairly quickly. The substory will be over once you win.
