You will be able to find this substory during Intermission 1, once you are able to access the world map. When you do, head to West Area and you will find Pilaf standing right outside of a cave north of West City. Pilaf and his underlings are being attacked by some robots (that he stole, too), so he wants you to destroy them. These are the same kinds of robots you’ve been fighting up to this point in the game and they have nothing new to offer in terms of attacks, so they should be easy enough to defeat. As soon as you beat all three robots, the substory will be over.
