The 
Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the first areas that you’ll encounter during Act 1. The 
Shattered Sanctum forms part of the camp and is the main base of the goblin operations in the area. The sanctum isn’t only home to the goblins though, since they have a few humans and other creatures allied with them. One of these is a man named Abdirak, a follower of Loviatar, the goddess of pain. On this page we’ll show you all the outcomes for the dialogue choices with Abdirak, and how to get the Loviatar’s Love buff.

Where to Find Abdirak in the Goblin Camp - BG3¶
To find Abdirak, you first need to enter the Goblin Camp which is located southwest from the Emerald Grove. There’s a courtyard area in the camp which is filled with goblins, just before you enter the Shattered Sanctum, but the goblins will be neutral towards you on your first visit. You can speak with Abdirak as soon as you enter the main chamber of the Shattered Sanctum, and you’ll find him on the eastern side.
Dialogue Outcomes For Abdirak in the Shattered Sanctum¶
There are a number of dialogue options that you can choose from when speaking with Abdirak, which gives the illusion of there being more than two outcomes. However, in truth there are only two ways your interaction with him can end, discounting the option of not engaging with his request at all. One of these options will lead to you getting the Loviatar’s Love buff, which is a semi-permanent buff that will remain active until your next long rest. The buff provides +2 bonus to Attack Rolls and Wisdom Saving Throws for 3 turns whenever your hit points are at 30% or less.
The other outcome is that you get no buff at all, but you still lose the hit points from the worship. Either way, you will be losing some hit points during the events that follow, so be sure to have a 
Potion of Healing or a healing spell ready to use afterwards.
The Loviatar’s Love buff can be a great way to boost your effectiveness in combat while you’re in the Shattered Sanctum area of the Goblin Camp, but only if your health gets below 30%. It functions more as a helping hand in difficult situations, rather than a constant buff in all scenarios. Still, it could make all the difference at the end of a long fight with one of the goblin leaders, so there’s a good argument for getting it early on. We’ll show you which choices you need to make to get this buff below.
How to Get the Loviatar’s Love Buff From Abdirak¶
When you first speak with Abdirak, he’ll ask you to join him in worshiping Loviatar, Maiden of Pain, but he doesn’t tell you what this involves. Given the context, it seems pretty obvious that there will be some sadomasochistic themes to this worship, so you should be ready to accept that as part of your character’s roleplaying journey. Tell him you’re ready, then stand with your face towards the wall to the east.

Once you face the wall, Abdirak will begin hitting you with a mace. After each blow lands, you’ll have some dialogue options to choose from which include roll checks for [Constitution], [Performance], and [Intimidation]. You will also have options related to your class, such as Bard, but if there are none relevant to your specialties, there will be a generic option to cry out in pleasure. Finally, there will be an option to stop altogether, which you should avoid if you want Loviatar’s Love buff.
Although each dialogue option will be slightly different depending on your character’s traits, you will need to select the options which result in you screaming, crying, howling, or anything similar. Do not select the options which result in you holding back your cries. If you do, Abdirak will be dissatisfied and you won’t get Loviatar’s Love buff at the end.
Should You Worship Loviatar with Abdirak?¶
If you’re not sure whether it’s worth engaging in the worship of Loviatar for the buff, there are other reasons to do it. For example, if you have 
Shadowheart and 
Astarion in your group, they will approve of you engaging in the worship, and it will lead to more interesting dialogue choices with them later. On the other hand, if you’d rather not have your own character go through the ordeal, but you still want to see how one of your other characters will react, you can speak with Abdirak using them instead.
Ultimately, the Loviatar’s Love buff is useful in fairly limited circumstances, and since it only lasts until your next long rest it’s not always going to be worth getting for everyone. It will depend partly on whether you want the specific benefits of the buff while you’re in the Goblin Camp, or whether you want to engage in the worship for the roleplaying purposes of your characters.
