Baldur's Gate 3

Blacksmith Dammon: How to Get Flawed Helldusk Armor in BG3

By
Seren Morgan-Roberts

On this page you’ll find all the information you need on how to get the Flawed Helldusk Armor in Baldur’s Gate 3. You can obtain this armor set during Act 2, but first you’ll need to find Dammon the Tiefling Blacksmith and some Infernal Iron.

Dammon can craft some armor using the Infernal Iron…and it’s pretty damn powerful!

Where to Find Dammon in Act 2

Dammon becomes an increasingly important NPC if you have "Karlach" iconKarlach in your party, as he is the blacksmith that can help fix her mechanical heart using Infernal Iron. Even if you don’t have Karlach in your party or you’ve not even met her, you can still interact with Dammon and he will also use Infernal Iron to craft some cool new heavy armor!

After the Tieflings leave Emerald Grove in Act 1, you’ll be able to find some of them at Last Light Inn in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. You’ll also find Dammon the Blacksmith in the outhouse building by the inn. Don’t worry if you miss him here, you’ll be able to find him at Baldur’s Gate in Act 3 too! If you’ve not reached Last Light Inn yet, head over to our guide on how to get to the Shadowlands! Or if you’ve already made it to Act 2 but haven’t quite found the Inn yet, use our map guide for all locations in the Shadowlands.

Find Dammon at the Last Light Inn.

Dammon’s Infernal Iron Armor Set

When you have some Infernal Iron in your inventory, you’ll be able to speak to Dammon and offer him some Infernal Iron. Note: if you have Karlach in the party, this interaction will only be available after you’ve helped repair Karlach’s heart the first time round. If you’re in need of some infernal iron, head to our guide on all Infernal Iron in Act 1.

Flawed Helldusk Armour

The first bit of armor he’ll make is the "Flawed Helldusk Armour" iconFlawed Helldusk Armour, which is a rare heavy armor chest plate that offers 18 Armor Class and has Superior Plate, which means that the wearer takes 1 less piercing damage. Additionally, the armor also offers Lesser Infernal Retribution, which means that when you’re hit by an enemy within 2m, it might take 1~4 "Fire" iconFire Damage.

If you don’t have anyone who can wear heavy armor in your group and you’re not sure how to make this armor work, consider respecing a character and giving them the Heavy Armor proficiency feat! Head over to our respec page for more information!

As cool as this armor is, if you haven’t got proficiency in heavy armor you shouldn’t wear it!

Flawed Helldusk Helmet

After you’ve managed to obtain a second Infernal Iron (you might already have another one!), you can head straight back to Dammon and get him to make you the "Flawed Helldusk Helmet" iconFlawed Helldusk Helmet!

This rare helmet which is actually classed as medium armor, grants Magical Durability, meaning that the wearer will have a +2 bonus to Saving "Throw" iconThrows against spells, and it also gives +1 to Constitution Saving Throws. Given that this helmet is not heavy armor, you might find it more suited to more fighter type characters, making it a little more usable than the chest plate.

The Flawed Helldusk Helmet also grants the wearer some powerful effects!

Flawed Helldusk Gloves

And finally, if you’ve got even more Infernal Iron to spare, you can return to Dammon again to have him make the matching gloves.

The gloves offer +1 to Strength saving throws, as well as the ability Lesser Infernal Touch. When worn, your attacks deal an additional 1~4 Fire damage, and unarmed attacks deal an additional 1~4 Necrotic Damage, and can also possibly inflict Bleeding.

The Flawed Helldusk Gloves help you deal even more damage in combat!

Flawed Helldusk Boots

Weirdly, you can’t actually get a matching pair of boots for this Flawed Helldusk Armor set. Dammon can’t make them and you won’t be able to find them out in the wild unfortunately. This has been confirmed by some players in the community who have searched through the code and found that no Flawed Helldusk Boots exist in the game.

But fear not, there’s actually a better and stronger version of the Flawed Helldusk Armour that’s just called "Helldusk Armour" iconHelldusk Armour. This armor set, however, is way tougher to get and you’ll need to be in Act 3 before you can start collecting them!
