Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Tidebreaker (Legendary)

By
Jarrod Garripoli

One of the best things about Borderlands games, as well as the spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is the Legendary items you can find. These items are gold in color and tend to have unique effects that are exclusive to that particular one. This page will concentrate on the Legendary Spell, the Tidebreaker.

Where to Find the Tidebreaker

The Tidebreaker is a part of the Coiled Captors DLC and thus, you will need to purchase this before you gain access to it. It can drop from any enemy in the DLC, as well as from the Chums boss you fight at the end. Once you finished Coiled Captures for the first time, it will be added to the loot pool in the Chaos Chamber, with it possible to get it from the rabbits at the end. This is probably the easiest way to obtain this, since you can simply focus your efforts on the spell rabbit.

Tidebreaker’s Stats and Effects

On its own, the Tidebreaker is nothing but a normal Sunder spell, that will come out from the player and move along the ground. This spell only comes in the Frost element, so you’re not going to get it in any other variants. The Tidebreaker’s special effect is something that can be present on a few other items from the DLC, which is the Soaked status effect. Basically, whenever you hit an enemy with this, it will apply the Soaked status effect, making them take 50% extra damage from Lightning and Frost, although they will take less damage from Fire.

How to Use the Tidebreaker

The Tidebreaker is a great spell to have with any builds that utilize Lightning or Frost, as the actual damage from the spell isn’t going to do much of anything. If you’re a Spellshot running Ambi-Hextrous, then having one of these spells on hand is going to be a huge help. You basically cast the spell to apply the debuff, then use a Lightning or Frost spell to deal an extra 50% damage (it’s not 150% extra damage). Note that some bosses/enemies will likely not be hit by this, since it goes along the ground, so while it’s an amazing spell for its debuff, you will need to be careful with its application.
