One of the best things about Borderlands games, as well as the spin-off, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is the Legendary items you can find. These items are gold in color and tend to have unique effects that are exclusive to that particular one. This page will concentrate on the Legendary Armor, the Head of the Snake.
Where to find the Head of the Snake¶
The Head of the Snake can be found as a world drop, meaning it’s possible to get it from any loot source. Outside of that, you can also get it as a dedicated drop from Salissa, the boss you fight at the end of the sidequest, The Ditcher. You will have to complete that sidequest before you can farm her for the drop. Additionally, if you want to make things a little easier on yourself, head to the Chaos Chamber and farm the loot bunnies at the end (the Armor one) for an easier chance at this item.
Head of the Snake’s Stats and Effects¶
The Head of the Snake is more geared for those using pet builds, specifically, the Hydra companions. Whenever you have some Hydra companions out with this Armor equipped, they will periodically teleport next to your character as you move around. That’s the worst part about this Armor, as Hydras don’t usually stay around for very long. However, another special effect is that kills will extend the duration of the Hydras by 30%, which can be a good thing to have for any Graveborn (the Dark Hydra skill) or if you’re using Feriore weapons that spawn Hydras. Of course, it’s not the best Armor for a Companion build, though.
