Shin Megami Tensei V

Stones of Malice

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Stones of Malice is a Subquest in Shin Megami Tensei V. Most Subquests will reward you with a large amount of experience, some Macca, and then you’ll receive an item of sorts. Most of the time, it’ll be a Talisman which allows you to have access to the different Magatsuhi skills in the game.

Bring Zhen 2 Poison Gems.

Where to start Stones of Malice

Once you make it to the Sukiyabashi Leyline in Chiyoda, continue onward and you will see a large building that is essentially functioning as a bridge. As you cross this building, you will see the highway ahead of you and underneath it, off to the side, there is a NPC demon. Jump off to this ledge to find the Zhen who will give you this quest. It will ask you for 2 Poison Gems.

Where to find Poison Gems for Stones of Malice

Similar to the other quests of this nature, by the time you come across this quest, you will likely already have two Poison Gems in your inventory. The reason you probably have some is because you got four of each ailment gem from Gustave for finding 65 Mimans. You might have also picked some up as enemy drops or from looting the Navigator spots throughout the various areas. If you should not happen to have any, though, then you will need to farm them. Both Black Ooze and Basilisk demons drop Poison Gems, with them both being in the Shinagawa region. Black Ooze demons can be found in the South Shinagawa area, while there’s a nice spot with three Basilisks in North Shinagawa, right when coming out of Fairy Village.

Recommended Party

There shouldn’t really be a need for any specific party while doing this quest, especially if you don’t need to do any farming for the Poison Gems. However, Basilisks are weak to Electric attacks, while Black Oozes are weak to both Fire and Light. So, if you’re hunting them for drops, then you should be focused on those kinds of attacks to make things easier.
