As you’re upgrading your Keycard, and running for your life from the Regeradors during Chapter 13 of Resident Evil 4 Remake. You will come across another obstacle, where to find the wrench for the third upgrade level of the Keycard. Finding the wrench, requires you to think outside the box a little, and can be difficult to find if you’re not sure where to be to look. Well, the wrench is hiding in plain sight. Read below to find out the wrench location.
Chapter 13 Wrench Location¶
The Wrench can be found in the Incubation Lab.
As we stated above, the wrench is hiding in plain sight, although it isn’t obvious where. There are some requirements for getting the wrench, but if you’re looking for the wrench now, chances are you already have them. In case you don’t, you’ll need the Biosensor Scope which you get when you pick up the Keycard for the first time, and you’ll need this attached to a weapon (Stingray works great with this) which preferably has some bullets. The last thing you will need is access to the Incubation Lab which is the room in the north where you need the wrench.
When you enter the Incubation Lab for the first time, you’ll have to take out a few enemies, all of which can be defeated with some clever stealth play. When the room is completely clear, make sure you’re fully healed and have all of your guns reloaded.

Stand near the back of the room, and take aim at the back right incubation chamber (if you’re facing the Keycard area) with your Biosensor Scope-equipped weapon. Do you see anything inside the Regenerador in there? Looks just like a Wrench! Aim at one of the Regeneradors weak points and shoot! This will release the monster into the room, so be quick to take out the second weakness. Once the Regeneradors dead, it’ll explode, dropping the wrench.

Before you upgrade you’re ready to upgrade the Keycard to its final level (3), make sure you’re healed up, and fully reloaded as you’ll be ambushed by numerous enemies while the Keycard is taking its time to update it which includes a Bull-Head Brute. The best place to fight these enemies is in the same small area where the Keycard is. Most of the enemies will funnel through the door with a couple vaulting over the broken window opposite the keycard.

When you get a few enemies grouped up by the door, throw a grenade to take out a bunch of them, or at least hurt them significantly. There is a hand grenade in the area with the Incubation chambers, on the trolley where the Wrench Regenerador was. For the Brute, whip out your shotgun, and fill its head with shells. It should only take 3–5 shells depending on how much you’ve upgraded the weapon, and every couple of shots will briefly stun the brute too. There you have it, you’ll have the wrench, and a shiny new level 3 Keycard.
