Resident Evil 4 Remake was released on the 24 March 2023 and one of the new additions to this version of the game are Merchant Requests which will require you to complete sub-objectives. One of these Sub-Objectives include destroying Blue Medallions that are scattered throughout the area. This page will navigate you through the necessary steps to starting and completing the Merchant Request More Pest Control that takes place in Chapter 9.
You can accept the More Pest Control Request from the Grand Hall
Where to Find the More Pest Control Request¶
In order to start the More Pest Control Request you’ll need to work your way through Chapter 9 until you’ve got the objective Head for the ballroom, then once you’ve entered the Grand Hall walk up to the headless statue. Here you’ll find the request stuck to the wall on the left. In order to complete this request you’ll need to find and defeat three rats. However, this request cannot be completed until the start of Chapter 10.
Rat 1 Location¶

Head through the door to the left of the headless statue to reach the Dining Room, then you’ll find the first rat running around the floor near the Serpent Head.
Rat 2 Location¶

Return to the Grand Hall and head up the stairs, then go through the room on the right to reach the Armory. Here you’ll want to survive the onslaught enemies, then open the gate with Ashley’s assistance. Proceed into the corridor and open the chest for the Cubic Device, then you’ll find the second rat running about to the left.

Progress through the game until you reach chapter 10, then when you regain control of Leon, head into the room on the right of the statue to find the Merchant Request Merciless Knight. Go into the next room on the right to find yourself in a dark library. Follow the narrow path around and you’ll find the final rat roaming about the open corridor.
