Resident Evil 4 Remake brings a whole host of new features to an already excellent game. The addition of Blue Request Notes are one such feature and completing them will reward you with useful items and other resources. How to Get the Scratched Emerald in Resident Evil 4 Remake¶
This (along with The Disgrace of the Salazar Family that you can also pick up here) is one of the easiest requests to miss in the game. This is due to the fact that you’ll soon be reaching the point of no return for the castle section of Resident Evil 4 Remake, and you have to go off the beaten path to complete it. The request notes themselves can be easy to miss, you’ll find them on the wall at the start of Chapter 12 when taking the elevator up to the golden gondola.
The request itself is deceptively simple once you know where to go and can be completed quickly at that. The note mentioning the Courtyard as the area is rather misleading because, although you do have to pass through there, the item is found just outside it.
Leave the gondola room via the south exit and head west through the Ballroom to return to the Grand Hall. Keep heading west and you’ll reach the Courtyard once more, the area noted on the request. Don’t stop there though, keep going west and exit the courtyard.

Stop as soon as you do and turn to the north, you should spot a crow perch on a nest, located on the wall that leads to the nearby Merchant. Take aim with any gun, hit the nest and an item will tumble to the ground. Go over and examine the item to discover that it is the Scratched Emerald that you’ve been tasked to find. Pocket the jewel and take it with you to the nearby Merchant, selling it to him for a tidy profit and completing the request in the process.
You must complete this request at any point before taking the northern gondola over to the Clocktower and using the lift at the top. This will put you on the path to leaving the castle and won’t allow you to revisit any of the previous areas, permanently locking you out of the two requests picked up in Chapter 12.
